✭✭✭✭ZOS needs to re-hire the person that knew what cats look like. They've kept their dog person, clearly, all the dogs are spot on. This "cougar" is a travesty. If it actually looked like a cougar, I would've bought it, cougars are one of my favorite big cats. But:
1. The black socks are absurd, have not the slightest basis in reality, and are clearly a desperate attempt to make this look different from a lion by someone who cannot recognize the ACTUAL ways that cougars look different from lions.
2. There is a cougar marking set for Khajiit toons. How in the actual frak did someone not look at that color scheme and just transfer it to the senche mount. WE HAVE COUGAR TOONS FOR FRAK'S SAKE.
3. Google has any number of very clear pictures of the signature white whisker pads surrounded by black and fawn/cream/white color scheme that makes a cougar recognizable. I was drawing cougars that adults would recognize as cougars when I was a 7-year-old child. It's not hard.
4. Now they won't backpedal on this because they never do; it seems that their policy is to double down on cosmetic mistakes (sixth house robe comes to mind) and that means we'll never have an actual cougar-looking cougar.
Please, prove me wrong, ZOS, by all means put a shocked look on my face by actually fixing your bad design choices here. Begging has been proven not to work, so I dare you.Edited by Minyassa on August 17, 2018 6:09AM6 -

callen4492✭✭✭Yeah ZoS doesn’t do a very good job of making accurate mounts. Where I come from, the Kagouti have much shorter horns and I have never seen a skeletal camel that glowed green. They always glow purple...8

✭✭✭✭✭On a related note having looked at the Wikipedia article for cougars I feel ZOS missed an opportunity by not calling it a catamount.
I've not heard that name before. I thought I'd heard a lot - cougar, puma, mountain lion, panther, American lion (which I'm not sure anyone except my friend uses) but apparently this animal holds the world record for the most names for one species. Well I think the booties are adorable and cannot wait to ride around on this little beauty. But then I love all the senche mounts. 1 -
So you are fine with cats that talk, ride other animals, wear clothes and armor, fight with weapons, shoot fire and electricity out of their paws, hold items in spite of no opposable thumbs, etc, etc, but having legs that are different from those found IRL stretches credulity? Hmmm.2

That's how I feel. The Pellitine Mustang was a recolor that wasn't realistic, too, but it was beautifully done. And honestly I'd be happy with recolors that only took five minutes if it was something awesome like adding a white blaze and white legs to some of the horses.
