Don't cougars often wear black boots?? XD

    Often.

Other times they wear dark stockings to cover the varicose veins.

You guys act like tamrial is earth following earth animal color patterns and logic..

Who is 'you guys'? By my count, at 28 posts, over 10 of them (including my own above) are emphasizing that it is a fantasy world where earth rules need not apply. So you are not alone in realizing that Tamriel is not Earth. :)

Apart from all the earth-like fauna, e.g. cougars, lynxes, apples, dogs with mutilated ears, etc. etc.

    They're big cats.

This one would like to say that the cougar is the largest cat in the genus “Felinae”, and is comparable in size to the leopard. This one knows that genus Felinae is comprised of mainly small to medium sized cats including felis catus - the domestic cat, but, Felinae also includes two large (aka. big) cats. Khajiit has discovered, these cats are: Puma Concolor (Cougar) and Acinonyx jubatus (Cheetah).

Khajiit cat tell you that cougars vary in length from 59 – 108 inches with a tail length of 21 – 36 inches, and height from 23 – 28 inches at the shoulder. Weight of such ones can vary greatly, between 75 and 250 pounds. This one has found that cougars have a long body with a small head, short face, and a long neck and tail and are powerfully built, with the hind legs larger than the front. The ears are small, short and rounded. Khajiit also knows that the coloring of such cats is as follows, (Khajiit is quoting from Wikipedia article):
The coat is typically tawny like that of the lion, which is why it was initially called the "mountain lion", but it otherwise ranges from silvery-grey or reddish with lighter patches on the underbody, including the jaws, chin, and throat. Infants are spotted and born with blue eyes and rings on their tails; juveniles are pale and dark spots remain on their flanks.

Dark moons! A big cat from a small cat family. This one would never have guessed!!!

Dear Amalexia! The point is so NOT that it doesn't look REALISTIC.. the point is that it was POORLY done,
are all you people on playing on low quality graphics or something that you can't see that those 'booties' should have been properly shaded to the lighter colour? Looks absolutely ridiculous.

    Since when?

Since Nirn was created as a fantasy world.

We have animated skeleton dragons, for crying out loud.

I don't even go here but guys, @Minyassa has done a pretty great job of explaining why it's not a simple issue of reality vs fantasy to them. Have you read it ?

ZOS is the one that set a precedent by making their tigers look like tigers, their lions look like lions, their leopard look like a leopard, their lynx look like a lynx, their snow leopard look like a snow leopard, their clouded leopard look like a clouded leopard, etc. ad nauseum. I don't have a problem with fantasy animals. I have a problem with naming MOST fantasy animals a fantasy name (these cats that wear clothes? They're called Khajiit, they came up with a fantasy name for them) and MOST of the ones that are parallel to real-life cats look like real-life cats, and then ONE ridiculously badly done real-life-named cat. That's why we are complaining, people, this is the black-legged sheep of the TESO senche mount family. It's fine they wanted to make a lion have black legs. They should have named it Black-Legged Lion, instead of breaking with precedent for this ONE very annoying instance, which not only uses a real-life name for the wrong-colored cat (again, something they have not done before) but gave us the false hope of seeing a favorite as a mount and blowing those hopes because they've already used that name for the wrong animal.

Worse yet? That baby Raz pet cat IS COUGAR COLORED. All they had to do was use that skin minus the red mohawk and boom, perfect cougar.
PC/EU - PVE 2H stam orc petsorc (meta, what meta?) ww - terrible dps - mediocre player - fun times - free ww bites to whomever asks so don't be shy if interested

I was so looking forward to a cougar mount I purchased this one before looking at it much.

I'll be asking for a refund. They REALLY screwed this one up.

cougars are one of my favorite big cats. But:

Cougars are not big cats. They're in the small cat family. But you are right, ZOS really messed this one up. Remember they also have a black panther mount and black lion mount and melanism does not exist in either of them. The roar of the lion mount sounds like a drunk person burping.

Cougars ARE big cats, but they are grouped with house cats because they can purr. The big cat sanctuary near me has eight cougars. One is domesticated and acts like a house cat in many ways...it sits on his handlers lap and purrs. It's crazy. It's a long way from being a house cat, but some of it's behavior is a lot like a house cats.

I love cougars. That's why I'm so disappointed with this mount. It's the female senche lion with black legs. It's not different and it's certainly NOT a cougar.

Guys chill. Literally cannot believe how deep this thread is getting over a reskin.

Don't like it, don't buy it. Simple. ESO is hardly modeled on realism now is it.

I wish people had this much energy to spend complaining about the actual things wrong with this game than wasting time moaning about an optional cosmetic. :/

The worst part about a senche lioness with black paws being sold as a cougar:

WE ARE NEVER GOING TO GET A COUGAR MOUNT! .....a cougar mount was the one I was most looking forward to, and now we know for certain we will never get one. Sad.

I've met a domesticated cougar, too, and have this advice. DO NOT let one lick your hand! Their tongues are as sand-paper-like as the smaller cats', but they lick a lot harder.
