180 days Game Subscription

Dear Elder Scrolls Team,

I've bought Imperial Edition 1 month ago. I have 30 days free subscription, and I know that. But today I redeemed the full game code in my account and I've choosed 180 days subscription. It says in there "You can just pay 10.99 Euro for 180 days." Good. This is reason why I choose the 180 days.

Here is the problem. When my subscription details completed, I saw something in my account page. It says, "You will be billed on May 4, 2014 for €65.94" I know real payment is 65 euro for 180 days. According the site, there are discounts for 90 days and 180 days. What is that? If I subscribe 180 days for 6 months, I have to pay on October 4th. Is that true? But otherwise I want to turn my 180 days subscription to 30 days.

Please information about it.

Thanks,
Best Regards,

Seriously, the homepage were quite clear, it is 11 Euro per month if you pay for 6 months at a time. It is just the same system as any other sub system you see out there. And you ALWAYS pay in advance for subs.

If you pay for six months, you will pay again six months later. So yes, if you pay on May 4th, you will pay again six months later. You get a discount for buying in 'bulk'.

If I understand correctly, you are asking if you pay at the end? The answer is no.

If you choose the 6 month option, you will be billed at the end of the 30 days game time included with the purchase of the game. There isn't a game company on the face of the planet that will give you any subscription playtime before you pay, just hoping you honor your word and don't duck out after having fun for a couple months.

The one thing I find weird though is that the game is $15 a month USD, or $13 a month USD for a 6 month prepaid subscription. 11 euros = 15 USD, so that would seem odd for that to be the discounted rate to me.

So now I'm curious - are people in Europe paying significantly more for access? Is the 30 day fee 11 euros too (in which case, EU players aren't getting any bulk 6 month discount at all) or is it more?

I think their sub includes EU taxes on online play.

Its alot more expensive.. Our usual fee is 13 Euros a month if you chose 1 month recurring, that is alot more than $15 a month.

Euros do get a bulk 6 month discount, but the discounted amount is basically the same as the un-discounted amount US pays(so EU player that buys 6 months pays the same per-month as the US player who buys 30 days). Has to do with EU legislation i believe, taxes or such. Sucks, but it won't ruin me

    Hi,

kagome_04b14_ESO Thanks for the answers. I don't believe there is sub include EU taxes on online playing. It's weird. :S

@Glassweaver We pay 12.99 euro per month. I know, I have to pay at the end 30 days for 12,99 euro. But the point is, Bethesda really wants for first 6 months 65 euro? If I saw true, I'll pay per 180 days for 10,99 euro. Is there not discount for it? I guess, I'll pay directly 65 euro for 180 days. Beacause, method of calculation is 10,99x6= 65,94 euro. I'm guessing, I understandr wrong first time. Now everything is clear.

    Thanks for everyone. :)

    Good!

Now, I cannot change my subscription method! Here is the error:

"The transaction was not authorized. Please check the provided information again or contact support at http://help.elderscrollsonline.com."

    What is that? :S

Do you have enough money on the credit card you used to set up the billing? I think you need to have those 65 euros on it for the transaction to be authorized. They will not take the money from you until the free 30 days are up, but the money does have to be on the card right now. (This is my understanding of how it works - to be 100% sure, ask customer support)

I'm sure, I have enough money. :S It's just 12,99 euro. First time it accepted the 65 euro. If they are not take until the end of this month (30 days), then they are not take the 65 euros. Am I right? I canceled my account, and when I try to again subscribe for 30 days, it gives error. I've already sent the issue to costumer support. I'm waiting now. :)

    Hello again!

I checked my credit card panel and I'am much surprised now! I guess Bethesda took the money for 65,94 euro. My first 30 month is free, as I know. Why took the money?

Please read the sticky on top of the forums, basically they're doing a balance check on your account for the money to see if you actually have it, therefore they take the 65.94 out for the time being to see if it's truly there. Then after they know it is it gets deposited back into your account until the end of the month. This may take a few hours or a day or two. But it is basically the same process as any other mmo out there.

However there are a few exceptions depending on who you bank with or what card you use and that come's down to the different card companies rules and regulations. So you may have already been charged for everything. Hope that helps.

    Hello,

I sent an e-mail to Bethesda, and I'm waiting for answer now. First of all, I paid my credit card debt for 195 Turkish Lira (66 euro). And when I checked the credit card panel, I saw just 3 TL(Turkish Lira). There should be 202 Turkish Lira.

Now, the game wants 180 days for 65,94 euro. This means in Turkey 194,4 Turkish Lira. And now I have in my credit card 3 Turkish Lira. If it's true there should be 8 Turkish Lira.

Is that wrong calculate or the problem is in my memory? Confused!

They took the money. But in my account I saw they took money on May 4th. Why now?

    Hi,

I have a big problem with monthly payment. I cannot contact with ESO Customer Support and I want to contact via forum with ESO Customer Support. I bought Imperial Edition a month ago. Now I redeemed the full game code. And the site canalized me to payment panel. I choose wrongly 180 days payment. I don't want use 180 days. I want to turn my payment subscription to 30 days. This problem is very small than my other problem.

Here is the second problem. When I choosed the 180 days, it said to me "You will be billed on May 4, 2014 for 65,94 Euro" It says May 4. But when I checked my credi card panel, Bethesda has already took the money. I also attached an image proof for 180 days payment date.

Also if it will be required I can attach Bethesda's provision picture from my credit card panel. I want my money back. :S And I want to turn my account to 30 days subscription. Then I'll pay 12 euro per month.

And one more thing, I cancelled my subscription, when I learned this issue. And I cannot open again. Because Bethesda took my all money in my credit card. Please help.

I hope they will help about this issue.

    Thanks,
    Best Regards,

ALL SUBSCRIPTIONS are currently being PRE AUTHORIZED when you sign up.

This is a temporary process. It is not a charge, it is a 'charge'. The money will come back, but it WILL NOT be available until your bank/credit company finishes the PRE AUTHORIZATION. There is no info on any changes to this currently.

EDIT- Sorry, caps aren't for yelling, I don't know how to talk to people that don't speak english first, it's my weakness not theirs.

first of all, there is no valid information about it on registration page.
Second, 1 cent would be enough to check the authorisation. heck, 1 dollar/euro would do. Taking 65 euro to authorize is stupid.

Yes, I have worked at hotels that use pre-authorization.

It will take anywhere from 1-4 hours to 1-3 days, at this point it depends on credit company or bank.

It MIGHT happen different under EU laws, this is USA experiences.

By calling your bank or credit card company, you may be able to speed it up.

I wish, the money come back quickly. Because I canceled my subscription. I don't have enough money for resubsciption. When the money come back, then I'll revize my subscription.

The money will be given back, as for when, no-one knows that. It could take 1 hour, 1 day or, in some cases, maybe longer. If you're concerned you can try contacting your credit card company and discussing this with them.

So, if I booked hotel room for a week, this authorisation amount was equal to the whole week charge (like 600 dollars)? or just (much) smaller sum to ensure the account is valid...?

Hahah, normally at a hotel the charge is the first night, and tax is not included because it is not a 'sale'.

    At fancy resorts, maybe more.

Companies seem to be pretty bad at currency conversions. Steam is hell, most stuff there is priced $1 = 1 euro

I called the credit card company a little bit ago. This authorization process was connected to the discretion of the company. :D
