    Looks who's talking.

If you see the chest is unlocked, then don't open it. OR, open it and take what's there anyways, because $$ is $$ regardless.

If money is money regardless, then take everything and there wouldn't be a problem!

They obviously don't care as much about every single penny as everyone else.

You don't get to decide what they pick up, what they sell, what they keep, and how they play their character.

An even better suggestion is to just have resource nodes and chests despawn after a while. Something similar happens in dungeons and trials, which is the main reason why in an organised trial group, you either open chests before or after the fight, never during.

Even better, chests that have been unlocked should despawn after a minute so it can respawn. Runestones that have had at least one rune removed should also despawn shortly after.

but that's already how it works. people always suggest this but the devs have said that this system is already in place. i guess it's not as fast as a minute? instead it works in a way compatible with the rest of the system without creating glitches, bugs, and exploits. an opened container respawns after the appropriate amount of time. the people who claim that partially-looted nodes and chests somehow persist indefinitely until a willing garbageman comes to clean it up are not accurate.

I have only personally checked Thieve's Troves, and I will never check another node again. The despawn time on a Thieve's Trove is 10 minutes, and has been recorded. This is unacceptable. Because it is so long most players never notice it, the mess someone caused will long have been cleaned up by another player who was trolled into thinking they were getting a full node.

So yeah the system is in place, but it is absurdly long.

    This.
People farm chests to get gear/motifs, and slowing down their respawn is kinda rude and even counter-productive (if you farm them, because longer respawn rate means less chests on the second run).
And if there were not defined locations you're consistently checking for those respawns, likely using HarvestMap, you might have something to legitimately complain about.

Move on to the next node on your list. It's not as if you're having to actually find the location each time.

If you're really seeing a pattern of issue here, perhaps skip a few on your route and you'll probably find your node intact and untouched.

This is effectively no different than if someone was in front of you, beating you to the chests on your same route. In either case, you get nothing, or nothing you want.

Hint: They're not your chests, and it's not your route. Plenty of methods to get gear. The shortage of naked adventurers running around tells me this isn't slowing them down a bit.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

Why are you completely dodging the fact that it negatively effects other people? Can you not see beyond the end of your own nose? Me comparing this to people who leave garbage for other people to pick up is the same concept, same intentions. Can't be bothered to throw something way, can't be bothered to use forethought and think how your actions effect the other people in the world/eso world around you. It is not unreasonable. It is not beyond anyone's ability. It's not dictating how someone plays their character to ask them not to junk up the environment they share with the other players in the game.

It's not "junk" it's pixels. Which is why you can't compare the two. You are comparing apples and oranges.

Don't pick it up if it "offends" you, or whatever else it may be.

And of course I can see beyond the end of my nose, or else I wouldn't see that other chest down the road, and headed towards it. Rather than sulking in front of one that's already open ^.^

It's sad to find every chest on your rivenspire chest route violated. :(

Well, that is the only reason I farm rivenspire. The violated chests, ofcourse.

Ok are you being intentionally obtuse? It's the actions/intentions that are comparable. Not apples and oranges. Again, why are you in denial that these actions effect other players negatively? Skills like Legerdemain level from picking locks.

You're making a big deal, out of nothing. And I'm going to quote this again, since you obviously missed it, bud.

Didn't someone also say that chests will respawn after 10 minutes? So you're just showing up at juuust the wrong time.
