Yeah, it's the ESO servers or their connections to the backbone or both. You can have fiber optic internet, and this game still performs badly.

I'm amazed that they haven't fixed performance issues for years now. I too came back to PvP last 2 weeks to experience all the wonderful improvements to PvP the patch notes lied about.

What a lot of hooey. If anything there are more bugs, more lag, and more disconnects than last year.

ZoS simply doesn't care to use resources to make performance improvements, obviously.

There are certainly better things to spend our money on, and I have ESO+. Definitely feel ripped off and lied to.

I have had abysmal service since June 13th. I have tried the port forwarding, I have submitted a ticket, which was no help at all, they said to do the port forwarding, which I already did. I have written on other posts where people also complained about the same latency problems I had. Nothing has gotten fixed. In fact I was able to notice after a while it changes with loading into a new zone, or logging in. Like if it was bad it'd stay bad until I changed zone, and it COULD get better, or stay bad. There was like a chance for it to fix with a zone change. I tested it multiple times. Like I'd log in with it going from 106 to 556 to +999 over and over, and it would stay like that, unless I changed zones. I'd change a zone or go into a delve per say and if it fixed it would stay fixed until I left the delve and took a chance on it going back to erratic ping. So, if I queued as a healer for a dungeon and I finally got a queue and zoned there... Right away I could tell if it was going to mess up. If it messed up I'd have to tell my team mates to give me a sec to re-log until it fixed. Which was annoying for them and myself. But, eventually it'd fix. I got used to this, and kind of found it as a way around it.

I thought maybe it was our internet plan, so we upped it higher for a better download/upload speed. Nothing fixed... I just have horrible latency with this game, and it seems to have gotten so bad recently that not even logging, or switching zones doesn't fix it. I get kicked more often, and I don't even mean being stuck in a lag spike so long the game kicks you, yes those happen, too. What I mean is where you're about to harvest a node, or just running around a map, and instantly kicked to login screen. No error, or warning.... Just insta-kicked to login. I get those a lot, too. If you look back a while in the past two month since Summerset dropped you can find all kinds of people complaining about the terrible latency problems that makes this game almost unplayable in other posts. Good luck, I think it will not get fixed until a lot of people stop subbing, and get very vocal as to why they're not playing anymore, THEN they MAY try and fix it. I kind of feel like we're all being ignored, and it's just getting worse and worse, and we're seeing newer people here and there make a similar post. I'm hoping it gets fixed, because WoW is looking a lot more appealing with the new expansion coming out and the problem not being over there.

Same here. Started in the middle of my vMA. Thought I'm that bad until I saw 999+ and freezes, teleporting mobs, mobs appeared from nowhere, skills didn't fire. Left the last 2 stages for tomorrow. Died way too many times.

Try running the game through a gaming VPN.

When I first started playing the game I had major connections issues. As a last resort I tried a VPN service and lo and behold, although my latency increased, all the connection problems disappeared. The problem appeared to be my internet service provider.

So I ended up changing ISPs and had no connection problems since, except the service-wide issues everyone encounters.

It's worth a try. Many VPNs that specialise in gaming have a free trial for a few days. Give it a go. What do you have to lose?
