Absolutely. I think that's why many have this perception that staff backbar tanking is more dependent on skill level. The tanks I have seen who can run this way are very skilled players.

Ice Staff is fun. I have a Frost Warden Tank with Ice Staff and Resto Staff on backbar. It is fun to play for normal dungeons but I wouldn't take it to trials, DLC or Vet dungeons.

What it really needs though is some great ice cream van theme, maybe we can pick it a as a skill. Imagine this playing as you kick a noob out of your group on Ultimate Shadow over Massive Place (TM) Vet Trial Armageddon.

If ZOS would make a couple of the Ice Staff skills Taunt on one Morph and CC on another, I would bet that the CC morph would be taken most of the time. And, more tanks would actually use the staff.

Here's a fix: just add an "aggro" poison or enchantment to the game. Then all they'll have to do is light attack to taunt. problem solved.

Some of the best tanks use a staff. Granted they use S&B and back bar a staff for the ranged interupt.
