I got my Stormproof title at 400+CP. It took me nearly 3 months. I told myself I would never put myself through that mess again. However, the double drops got me dreaming of that Inferno staff again, so I'm back at it. 2 more runs an I've gotten two 1h&s, an axe, and a dagger. When are you going to offer a token system for this god awful RNG grind?

You’ve done it 3 times chill out man. You’ll eventually get it and you’ll be relieved. I’m assuming you keep getting your butt pushed in. It sucks man but eventually you’ll get it down.

Up to 32 weapons myself... Everything but the lightning staff I want. How does it know?? :-)
Would be nice to be able to trade in like 20 I don't want for the one I do.

At least you don't gotta farm for the right trait anymore.... That's a huge plus!

I wish it ran client-side so I didn't have to deal with the lag and skills not firing when I key press.

I've given up on completing it. I can do without that kind of frustration and anger.

And I agree, the rewards aren't worth the hassle any longer.

The trick I've found with vMA is to not burn yourself on it. I ran it once a day when I was grinding it. I didn't stress myself out over the grind. It took six runs for me to get my bow.

RNGesus can be quite cruel. I obtained every single weapon the arena has to offer (bad traits and some BiS) before a fire staff even dropped for me and the trait on it was rubbish. Transmutation is truly a lifesaver, but it would've been nice if the final chest was like "oh you have a staff equipped here have a maelstrom staff."

    Favorite Foods and Potions
    https://media.giphy.com/media/3otPoTggaYFNd1FdAI/giphy.gif
    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

Honestly, the weapons arn't that great. They take up 2x set buffs now of which one with be a 5 pc. Even on the back bar only it is a big loss since you still spend about 30% of your time there. Maybe they pay if the 5 pc loss is a proc that you determine the activation of but is is all slender and situational. I think more times than not the weapons are a dps loss.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

Except the vMA staff and bow in PvE is a requirement for top level dps. Certainly not a dps loss.

The part with the bow is actually not so true, unless u talk 1-2% difference. my vDSA bow actually outperforms vMA bow BY FAR on single target. Only VERY LARGE AOE fights spike up with maelstrom bow.

you realize the maelstrom destro staves adds damage to your light and heavy attacks and the maelstrom bow increases your endless hail every tick? yea, its not a game breaker but it does improve your dps quite a bit and no semi serious to serious trials guild is gonna allow a player who doesnt have those weapons

how are you gonna claim those weapons are a dps loss when you have no evidence and not to mention you dont even have a vma clear

maelstrom makes you a better player too. just fyi

Depends on which fights. Arena 5 can be quite stressful for me as a Sorc because the ranged mobs apply a TON of shield pressure and I don't always get enough time for Power Surge to work its magic

Consider the "neighbor" above as any other game that has done the same things better, often time years before development of this game ever began, and this whole argument is "those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it" and old man syndrome, "you youngins have it too easy; in my day, we walked uphill both ways in the snow, 5 miles, just to be able to play chess with a stranger and now you can login on your computer in a virtual world and play with actual friends sitting in a comfy chair".

Seriously, a token system is FAR past due.
