I've waitied today 15 minutes (which is not the best not the worst i guess?) for a vet pledge . After this 15 minutes i found a group which were already in the finale boss, leaving me with 2 options.
    1. Help them kill the boss and reque .
    2. Leave and find a new group so i can do all the bosses to finish my pledge which i did but now, i'm on cool down cause i queue recently.

The game needs an option where you can filter out dungeon runs already in progress.

FF14 has one of these I know. Some others probably do too.

So the poor guys waiting for their tank at last boss will never finish the dungeon? This doesn't work as long as you don't get the pledge for only killing the last boss.

It probably wouldn't change much - because the tank is likely just to leave anyway when he joins a run already in progress if he's not interested in doing the bosses again.

I can understand the frustration - but in the end I think it should be up to player if they want to join runs already in progress or not.

Nobody would join pledges already in progress. The solution is to reward the rescue team instead of punishing it. For instance by granting them the pledge rewards after killing the last boss.

I would still join them as I don't mind joining runs already in progress. And I'm sure I'm not the only one out there.

But you're right - a lot of people probably would opt out of it if the option was presented.

Your idea to let newcomers get full credit for the pledge sounds like a good one to me. I would support that change. But I don't see why you can't have both.

Nah, you should get at least pledge credit as @zaria mentioned above.

Arguably, if you're getting called in on the last boss, you're probably satisfying a greater need than if you're brought in on the first.

I've yet to see a group that can clear the final boss but yet is somehow unable to get to the final boss. (There are a few exceptions, where next to last is actually harder than the final, but if such is the case, those are usually the stopping points, not the final encounter.)

It doesn't need to grant you speed run, no death, or even full clear credit in achievements, but it should at least satisfy the requirements of pledge. If prior bosses are desired for completion, it's a simple matter of having a locked barrier that only goes away when a miniboss is dispatched. Several dungeons already do this.

I actually enjoy being brought in on what were previously considered hopeless runs, teetering on abandonment, only to help a group get a painless clear and potentially learn some new methods in the process. It's good for the soul, and helps them get better for next time.

FWIW, if you mention is to the group, most will be willing to quickly norm clear the prior bosses with you, especially after being grateful for helping finish what may have been a multi-hour session prior to your arrival.

Neither group nor recent replacement should get punished for what turns out to be a successful completion (this includes the lingering
cooldown once an instance is complete.)
