So I wanted to take a sec to give some positive feedback about Mid-Year Mayhem as I've seen a lot of posts here on the forums about the negatives of it. Don't get me wrong though, I pretty much agree with all the negative posts I've seen so far about it (unacceptably poor server performance, server crashes, skills not working, not being able to weapon swap, etc.), but for this thread I wanted to highlight some things that I've really enjoyed during this event.

Overall, I've been having an absolute blast! As someone who enjoys both facets of the game (PvE and PvP) but definitely considers PvP to be "endgame content" and treats it as such, I've been really happy with my overall experience in Mid-Year Mayhem (MM) so far. The Double Alliance Points boost alone has been really awesome, and I've been really happy with the Boon Boxes as well. Even though they don't contain much, they've still provided some really useful items. Also, every time I earn one I get a much stronger feeling of accomplishment than I ever do from getting the boring "Rewards for the Worthy" drops. The opportunity through this event to acquire many more Transmutation Crystals through these Boon Boxes has also been REALLY nice! Basically what I'm getting at here is these rewards, however small, are providing a sense of value, worth, and accomplishment to anyone participating in MM. It's something I really hope ZOS knows we like because I've always felt that PvPers don't really feel like they're earning much more than just regular AP for things they're doing in game.

I'd also like to highlight the positive fact that I think it's been really fun having new players joining in on the PvP scene. Seeing multiple servers alive and popping, some with really long queues has been great to see. Sure I know the long queues suck for those trying to get in and server lag has been atrocious, but it's really nice to get the feeling that PvP is alive and thriving even if it's due to an event.

Lastly, I'd just like to say that I'd really like to see ZOS start doing events like this more. If this thread goes anywhere, which it very well might not, I'd love to really hammer home the idea that having a 2x AP or 2x Tel Var event once a month would be REALLY awesome for the ESO PvP community. It doesn't have to be long, it could just be 1 weekend out of the month or even once every other month, but I'd really love to see Zenimax throw the PvP community a bone and implement something like this. I mean even with MM going on IC is rather dead (as it always is, sadly  ) and having a monthly or bi-monthly event to get people there would be really fun.

Anyways, I just wanted to highlight a few of the things I've been enjoying during MM and let ZOS know that I've been having fun. I hope some of you are having fun with the event too and would love to read your replies to this thread. Let's try to keep it positive as there are plenty of threads about the negatives of MM, but thanks for taking the time to read this

I agree that some love for IC would be really nice!
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Most definetely Chimneyswift - its nice to see some life injected into PvP again. The frequency of PvP events should be upped.

The bigger population has been awesome to see. I haven’t seen pvp this busy in almost 4 years. Definitely need to step up pvp event frequency and change up the rewards.

Yeah, that's essentially what I was getting at near the bottom of my post. I totally agree with you though, I just really hope the community sees this and that ZOS sees it as well and decides to make things like this more frequent. It's hella fun.

I've been playing for six months and have never stepped foot in Imperial City or the Sewers, or done any BGs before this week. I decided to try them out because I figured a lot of other noobs would be doing the same thing and that made it less intimidating. I've had a lot of fun and I'm so glad I finally checked out these parts of the game!

My experience in AVA proper (Vivec campaign) has been a mess of long wait times, lag, and disconnections, but ultimately that just pushed me more to check out these other parts of PVP which I like a lot.

I absolutely agree. As someone that got a late start to PvP (started last year during the event) I have been really trying to encourage people to get out there and try it. I've offered to take people with me that might be avoiding it for the same reason I did (anxiety). I love seeing all the new people out there giving it a try. And I hope that some will stick around.

This event has been a blast. Even with the game crashing on me just in time to miss a 500k defense tick, the fact that a 500k defense tick existed in the first place is awesome (that fight was so much fun). Yeah I'm waiting in queues longer than I'd like to get into my preferred campaign, but I have had some good times in whatever guest campaign I've gone into.

The MM boxes are great, thank you for the free camps and coldfire items!

And yes, more events for Cyro would be great! Separate events focused on IC would be more ideal than combining them with Cyro events in my opinion. If we want more people to check out more areas of the game, I think they all have to be their own thing or it spreads out too much. And if it was like this event is for Cyro, then we have this other event for BG's, and another for group dungeons, and this other one over here for normal trials (you get the idea) then people would all be doing those events and more new people would feel comfortable trying them out without a lot of pressure from those that know what they are doing in whatever area of the game.

I've earned a butt-load of AP so far.

    FYI butt-load = A LOT

It got our guild back down into IC for a while, haven't been there in a long time and it was fun. Earned a ton of AP and killed some scummy AD and DC ta boot.

Not that I'm proud of this but, also killed a lot of PvEers in PvP as well. Thanks for the AP :)

I disconnected twice. The first time it let me right back into Cyro, the second time it shot me out and made me queue back in. I got in RIGHT after the fight ended, people were talking about bathroom break time and I was like NOOOOOOOOOO! lol

All that time, and I lost out on the AP. Such a bummer, I'm still salty about that but trying to move on with my life lol.

Overall, i'm having a good time with the event.

    - BGs are giving a nice amount of AP. I played BGs for hours during the weekend and it was a blast (granted, i only played BGs the first 2 months they were released so all my characters had no/low MMR so my queues are almost instant)
    - Cyrodrill is very crowded and had a great time raiding and doing large-scale, thing that is very unusual since i never really liked large-scall.
    - Rewards on the boxes are really nice, is good having good rewards on PvP for a change. Now i have a reason to play besides just stacking millons of AP.
    - Haven't got into IC, but i guess that the achivments are going to push some people to go there.

The negative? well, the usuall suspects: lag, disconnects, crashes and sloads ^^

Overall am having a blast. As someone who has mostly stuck to PVE and doing most end game content their, am late dipping my toes into PVP. I have been sucked in getting decent AP and going from Volunteer to just about hitting Major in last few days since start of event or running with random group getting the Star Made Knight achievement.

Only downsides seem to be with 40-50 people + NPC's at keeps seem to come to a crawl in terms of performance and FPS hit, but other then that, been a blast.

I don't think I would have taken part in any battlegrounds if it wasn't for the event, so it was nice to experience that part of the game, and even get an outfit page from the rewards. Overland PvP in Cyro has been a bit hit and miss, because of a combination of queue times, lag, and disconnects, but overall I'm having a good time, gathering some AP and achievements

That's really cool to hear :) I myself love BGs and lately have been preferring the no-CP environment. If you're looking to check out the Cyrodiil experience but don't want a crazy long queue the No-CP Sotha Sil campaign has been pretty fun. I've been guesting there this campaign and will likely home there after the current campaign ends.

THIS! Oh man, this would be really awesome. Some kind of rotating (or even random) event or events every month that encourage players to try out already established parts of the game would be AMAZINGGG! Imagine 1 weekend you have a 2x Tel Var event and IC is packed and is insanely fun. The next weekend they do some sort of "Undaunted Weekend" and the Group Queue for Dungeons is on fire and full of people looking for unique and fun rewards from an event. Every event like this, no matter what it is, makes the game feel more alive and I really hope ZOS starts doing things like this more often in every facet of the game. Obviously this post was specific to PvP, but yes, I really like your idea here!

It's been nice doing battlegrounds and getting other noobs, instead of the same 2 pre-made groups every single time that just wipe the floor with everyone.

My main, finally got win a battleground achievement from last years midyear mayhem, and completed the quest to win 3 battleground from when Morrowind launched (needed 1 more win for the last year).

Yeah, hopefully a lot of these new players to battlegrounds stick around and continue to play them and get better. IMO battlegrounds is one of my favorite things in-game right now.

Yeah man, mag sorcs in BGs right now are EVERYWHERE. I'm relishing the games I get where there's like less than 2 sorcs to fight cause it's actually fun again. Last night I think I had 3+ mag sorcs in every match...it was awful. That being said, the double AP still makes it worth it :) Still loving this event overall imo.

I'm having a blast playing on Vivec. I dont seem to have any performance issues. I dont PVP a lot so following the zergs and participating in the big sieges, offence and Defence. I'm dying a lot and get ganked when I'm behind the crowd lol.

I was in a keep and the zerg broke the gate down and it was just me and a templar and the they just rolled right over us lol. I think after this event I'm going to really learn PVP, its a whole dynamic thats different from the rest of the game and really challenging. My stambalde went toe to toe with another NB and I won I barely had any health left when it was over. We were both noobs at PVP and both button mashing but it was a lot of fun.
