My launcher started to download and install the game, but didn't delete my files for some reason. I just closed it and opened the game through the client folder in the Program files folder. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the launcher when I need a patch for future reference lol
servers are up & i loggin to game just now. opened client straight from C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\client\eso.exe
dammit! Patch, 40 MB ,,, get ready to play ... wtf repair? Ok, wait that 2 minutes ... oh crash ... Ok... start launcher again ... wtf? INSTALL?? My folder has been completely wiped! No files in there at all! Only launcher folder remained...
OK, some info for you:
Last Server was EU
I played in beta on NA, changed to EU for early access.
Played until now without problems. Loaded some patches (around 40 MB),
when it finished it went into repair mode and crashed when finished.
After starting the launcher again it went to install. I checked my folder a few seconds later and it was empty. The folders TESO and TESO EU had been gone.
Now I'm downloading again the whole thing. I can't provide any log as there is none.

The problem is quite simple actually, the launcher only has a completely awful check for fine integrity, i.e. it only checks for the files: game.version, depot.version and vo_en.version.
The patch managed to delete/not create at least one of those files, i.e. the first two missing will require a reinstall (not really, just get those files) - the third will have you redownload the voiceover.
My launcher just deleted all of the game files...:(
Yeah. Not sure who's bright idea it was to have the launcher be able to simply delete more than 20GB worth of data without checking it first or asking for some sort of user confirmation.
Well I had already clicked the Install button and got about 10% into install, I canceled the Install from Game Options under Loader and then clicked Repair. It repaired downloaded the smaller patch repaired and I have a Play button. If you clicked Install do what I did. Good Luck! See you online!
After reading the replies in this thread I paused the 2nd full install (after the small patch update) and quit the launcher. I too can just start the game from the executable in the game dir.
Now I'm hoping Zenimax will come with a launcher update, since the launcher will want to resume the 2nd full install everytime...
Nice job guys. Unbelievable. I try to stick up for you, but this is pretty lame, even considering you obviously are new to this online gaming thing and sort of obviously out of your depth..... this is really terrible pre testing of your patch.

The number one rule of online gaming is now and has always been, Never play on Patch Day.
I noticed i had all 30gb of data in my game files. I had started the "re-install" that shouldn't have come up. I decided to cancel it and load the game from the .exe bybassing the launcher. When i went to find the .exe again the whole folder was removed. It isn't anywhere. Apparently when i cancelled the install it deleted the complete folder which i had a running beta client inside of. I am now stuck downloading the complete game again.
This is utterly ridiculous. Especially after the bank debacle. Completely not happy with the data bugs in this game so far. I have no confidence the issues are even fixed anymore.
