Midyear Mayhem is Unplayable

It's almost like having a "mega" server is less reliable than multiple smaller servers to better distribute the load. (Stop giggling)

Or at the very least it would benefit everyone to have PvP on its own "mega" server.

Yeah I can't play. Literally. I can't get logged in. When I finally do after 20 minutes of repeated login attempts, I can play for maybe 2-5 minutes before I crash. Then I spend another 30 minutes trying to get logged back in. And this strictly in PvE zones, I haven't even tried to PvP. I've tried every fix I could find and it didn't help. I finally completely uninstalled my entire game and am currently reinstalling it hoping that will fix it. But honestly, not holding my breath. It's utterly ridiculous.

I remember when they launched for console and bragged about having the very first mega server. Guess they failed. Ever since the Imperial City was launched for us on console, the game has been a mess. Whenever there is an event, more people play and the servers cannot handle it. When the event is over, more people have quit and so the game kind of is playable.

There's a reason I play on Shor during Midyear Mayhem despite homing on Vivec, PC/NA.

Vivec = unplayable. Shor = how Vivec normally is. Kastav and D'Albei = how Shor normally is.

Tried other campaigns. Karstav didn’t have crashes day one. But my inventory was bugged and couldn’t bar swap. Day Two Vivec Unplayable, then Shor seemed normal except for the amateur hour pug Zerg leaders happy to FINALLY take Alessia from AD after four years of trying...only to crown a DC emp when they lost it.

My buddy whose played for years told me to forget whatever ideas I had in Vivec, play the other campaigns. He and all you in the forum are right about that. Hopefully, with the few days left after Unplayable Mayhem ends I can manage to stay high enough to earn gold rewards and EP somehow manages to win.

Wait in Q for only 30 mins if I'm lucky. Take forever to log in. Get in, go 3 feet and crash.

Since I'm dead somewhere out in the countryside when I crash, when I try to relog it tells me I don't have a valid game.

If I'm not valid, I want my money back.

How does this matter for Cyrodiil? It is split in separate campaigns.

Yep - after an hour plus wait in a 150 player queue I finally got into Vivec PC NA - my home campaign since there was Vivec campaign . I crashed at Arrius during a fight - managed to log back in but no dtick and I wasn't the only one.

Then went to Sej - crashed there and crashed every time I tried to relog until I was logged back into zone I got into Cyro from - 250+ queue.

GG Zos - the event has made my home campaign literally unplayable. Imo players who have been on a home campaign for a long time should have priority - overflow should go to the overflow servers for the event.

on the ps4 version NA, the double ap scroll will either disable AP gains altogether or half the amount of ap you get from daily turn ins and tics ( gives double for player kills though)

I waited in queue for ~2 hours.

I ported to BRK, started riding to sej. I joined my guild group, managed to type out a hello and crashed as i passed the boundary to sej.

I've been trying to login again ever since, id guess 30 some minutes now.

I log, character select, 10 minute load screen, error message, repeat.

This has more or less been my exact experience. Wait in the queue for hours, app crashes once I'm there, then I spend ~15 minutes trying to log back in but instead I get "unusually long load time" then quits back to main menu with an error message about connecting to the server.

When I finally get back in, I missed AP ticks and I'm back at the front gate. Play a little more and repeat the above. It's ridiculous.

Adding: Literally as I sit here I have been going through this cycle over and over again. Press the button to load my character, hit Cyrodiil load screen, wait 5 minutes, get disconnected because of "server" problem, push to load my character, sit through load screen, disconnected, etc etc etc. Fix your ***.

It's been 4 years and people still don't understand that no matter how much they complain about server lag, they are also part of the problem. When you have a campaign that is pop locked, just go to another one... Why wait for a 250 vivec queue when you can join one of the new campaigns? ZOS opened 3 more for a reason. A lot of the lag would be alleviated if people stop stacking in 1 campaign and instead spread out.

Im pissed. I waited two hours to finally get in Vivec, was in combat while I got the prompt, then got bumped back to 134. These new campaigns are nothing but scrub guilds farming new players at the closest keep to their home base. Im not going in one of those again.

The new campaigns are a farm factory, which isnt ZoS fault, but it's still disappointing.

The point is that it's been four years and people still blame ZOS when they also contribute to the lag. If they had spread out in other campaigns the lag would not be as much of an issue. It's such a simple solution.

Believe it or not, some people actually care about the outcome of a campaign they’ve been invested in for 25 days... Why on EARTH should I go to a different campaign when there are only a few days left in the campaign I’ve been playing all month? I want to beat EP in Vivec; if I go to one of the new campaigns, I’m not helping my alliance to beat EP in Vivec.

Ongoing campaigns should be locked during Midyear Mayhem to anyone who hasn’t earned a single point in said campaign. It’s REALLY annoying that I’m dealing with queue times that I usually don’t have to deal with RIGHT AT THE END OF A CAMPAIGN, because people who ordinarily do not give two hoots about PVP are clogging up the campaign for a cosmetic reward, or easy Vigor/Caltrops/Warhorn

This. Except with EP winning lol.

Event players should have event servers - it's obviously very easy for ZOS to create these things.

Maybe you should go small scale on a dead farm server. Understand that those of us who enjoy AvAvA and play campaigns daily and to win are pissed that we spend more of our play time waiting to get to our campaign then actually playing.

Yea the problem is the actual pvpers don't want to switch campaign, even though all campaigns have the same leaderboard system and the only difference is one is a 30 day and the other is a 7 day.

They should REALLY rethink this event. Mayhem only servers would help. Maybe have Vivec and Shor and Sotha leader boards frozen until after the event as people above suggested. You know, spread the people out.
