Early Access for me was being able to get out of the start zones before the masses logged on. So this solution doesn't help.
No, they didn't have to give anything at all. However, they advertised a specific advantage to pre-purchasing. It would be good business practice to honor their own advertising or do a better job at communicating and give an alternate that is better or equal to the advertised offer.
