Dual GPU Support

Hello, I have a gtx 590 dual gpu Nvidia graphics card and the game currently only uses one gpu. Yes, I can still play the game in ultra and yes everything runs smoothly but it is placing a lot of unnecessary load on one of my gpu's and causing a great deal of heat.
My question is, will there be support in the future for cards like mine so I can spread the load more evenly and reduce my power costs and heat build up? I am not complaining, I would just like to know if there is a way to force the game to use both gpu's or if there is a plan to have dual gpu graphics cards supported in the near future?
Thank You

    Hi AlchemyDevil,

What settings are you using in your Nvidia profile? I have a quad SLI GTX 590 set up and I am struggling to get any decent FPS with it on Ultra.

There's not much out there at the moment on SLI support that I can find. Read somewhere that we wont get much benefit until they release a patch allowing "True Full Screen" mode.

I could get the SLI Indicator to work by forcing alternate frame rendering 2 with the result that there was almost no scaling being used; only 1 GPU. I also tried 3-way SLI and dedicating one GPU to PhysX; no improvement there either.

as long as the game doesnt use proper fullscreen, there will be no sli.

    my 690 doesnt approve :(

I forced AFR2 on my GTX 465's, but it's not scaling evenly. Generally one GPU is running at about half of the load of the other.

I imagine that multi-gpu support is going to be a post launch project, though there's been no official word on it that I can recall.

The SLI profile is provided by NVIDIA by way of driver update. They (NVIDIA) stated a new driver would be coming by end of this weekend (soon).

Yep, true full screen will likely solve most SLI issues.

Yep, true full screen will likely solve most SLI issues.

Quoted for emphasis. Currently ESO runs in a borderless window, not full-screen exclusive mode (aka "true fullscreen"), when the option for fullscreen is selected in-game. SLI does not work with ESO, and only utilizes one GPU at this time. It's a long-standing issue that hopefully will be resolved in the near future, at long last...

Read my post I have a GTX 590 as well.

My post has a temp fix for it until a real SLI profile from Nvidia is released.

Nvidia has no SLI profile yet but have stated in the Geforce forums they are working on it for ESO.

Also SLI works with many non full screen games. Dont know why people are stuck on the full screen only idea. Most my games I play in window borderless. Never had the issue.

I know very well that SLI does not require full-screen exclusive mode, but it generally works better with no profile on titles that have it, than ones that don't. The so-called "fix" listed in your thread does not actually result in proper SLI support... it may improve framerates moderately, but it's not an actual profile nor does it result in proper performance gains. I attempted numerous times throughout beta testing over the past 9 months to get the game to work fully with SLI and failed to do so. The same idea you had was tried along with many, many others :). Hopefully there will be a real profile at some point in the near future...

Thanks for posting, I am aware of this, I just wanted to keep bringing this up to draw attention to it as much as I can. The more people that respond/agree with this thread the more chances that they will do something about it. I am sure I speak for most owners of SLI or Dual GPU cards when I say we didn't pay for some of the most powerful and expensive technology to see it go to waste. Most other games allow us to unleash our beastly cards and bask in the awesomeness that they provide, it would be wonderful if TESO could join them.

Tested it back in July 2013, again in October, and again in December. I then switched to a single highly-OC'd GTX 780. No need to be snide. I'm also unsure that you read my post as you seem to be agreeing, then making a sarcastic insult as though you don't agree.

Try it with nvidias current beta drivers.

In the software developer forums a few of us tried it out when finding out if Nvidias claims at the performance benefits were true or not.

This eso "temp fix" came up there as well and a few other people noticed gains as well even people working on debugging the beta drivers.

i guess for some it works others it donts...as I stated in my post.

Ah, I apologize then too. In all seriousness, I'm glad to see people pushing this issue again as I had no success in doing so during the beta process... I want to go back to an SLI setup for my personal PC (I'm also a developer :) ) with the next card generation, but ESO, being a game I'll be playing a lot, will be a big influence on that decision!

Im still sticking with my old GTX 590 until the Next Gen 890 (SLI on one card) comes out based on Maxwell. Im excited for that. Skipping 600 and 700 series its finally time to upgrade once that comes out.

I have been waiting for this as well, but there is no game out there that my card can't play in ultra so there has been no need to upgrade yet.

Seem to be having problems again. Running DX11 and forced back to having to be in Windowed mode to get any decent SLI scaling with Quad SLI. Weird when Geforce experience is telling me to be in Fullscreen.
