Maintenance for the week of September 22:
· [COMPLETE] NA megaservers for maintenance – September 22, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 UTC) - 10:00AM EDT (14:00 UTC)
· [COMPLETE] EU megaservers for maintenance – September 22, 8:00 UTC (4:00AM EDT) - 14:00 UTC (10:00AM EDT)

Now even I'm pissed off. prime time for Eu really?

    Well, JessicaFulsom had said:
We want all of you to know that everyone who was part of Early Access will be granted an extended grace period until Sunday at 8AM EDT/12PM (noon) GMT before being required to transition your account to live. This will cover those who purchased ESO from an online retailer and won't be getting your box shipped in time and also gives anyone in Early Access who purchased digitally more Early Access time.

....and all I can say is....this makes the wait worth it. This also is a good apology for the lack of notice.
This also shows they DO care about their customer base, regardless of country of residence.

    I'm happy....and paying the love forward. <3
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

All these whine threads make me think I'm reading the Eve online forum. :p

Just bump the happy threads, my EVE friend.

When I saw someone complain that the free days we were given for our troubles were bad because of resource competition, I paused and thought Sheogorath would be proud.

There are server bugs and then bugs in the forum. One of these takes longer to fix.

I've read all this thread with my usual of what the heck attitude but Sunday maintenance has to be a mistype surely?

I'm looking forward to (hopefully) playing this game during the next month before subscription payment kicks in.

I'm hoping that all the BS that has gone before will be forgotten within that first few joyful hours of getting back into the game (if it ever let's me).

I'm usually quite laid back about this things, it is after all just a game and there are others that I can enjoy just as much instead, but seriously I'm thinking more and more of just playing for the time I've paid for, write off the price I paid for the game, and go back to playing a game where the customers actually seem to come first.

and before some troll comes along to say sarkily "We'll miss you" whatever... don't bother you are missing my point. If I'm considering this then there will be a lot of others also thinking the same.

I know that some hiccups were bound to happen but this is beyond the pale :( It could all have been handled so much better.

I fully agree, it just boggles the mind to think that this company seems to not have taken notes from other mmo's that patch in the early hours unless something goes badly wrong.

When you are taking a monthly fee you should be looking at times that have the least amount of impact to your paying customers and not to what times might inconvenience your staff.

What's amusing is that it can't even be convenient for the support team, because 9am here is maybe 1am to 4am on Sunday morning in the US, depending on zone. What, are they thinking that the technical team will want to come into Zenimax HQ after a night out getting trashed and do a bit of server maintenance for fun?

well If I would have known the 5 days early access was going to be several days of 12hour down times I would have simply waited to purchase on the day of release because the stupid pets and treasure maps was not the reason I purchased it was the 5 day lead in the game. Which I have now got maybe 10 hours of. I could have bought the cheap version and been much less disappointed on day one. That said I guess this is not really much different than when the release of NCSoft's Aion. they were not prepared for the server issues in PVP and the game was just not playable in PVP. All because of a coding oversight. everyone that bought the game or collectors editions were basically told f off you can still play it its just a little slow so turn your graphic down. I promptly canceled my account. I don't see this as a damning as that was but I am very annoyed.

Bringing down the game during European prime-time is not something we do lightly, and it is not our intent for it to be the norm. This is a bit of a unique case for launch day. When we have our weekly maintenances, which may not always be needed weekly, the one for the European megaserver is scheduled for Tuesdays at 13:00 BST (14:00 CEST) and Sundays at 09:00 BST (10:00 CEST.)

I hope this is not correct. 9am Sunday is a bad time for maint, when I am off on my weekend.. get this.. I want to play!

Most games do their maint during the night, learn from them please. Even 1pm is a bad time for maint.

So far you are doing everything WRONG, and are very quickly loosing a lot of respect.

Is there any reason why they can't schedule the maintenance for the servers independently? I thought that would have been one of the advantages of having separate NA & EU servers.
well i think they will but: The North American and European megaservers will first be hosted in North America. This gives us a more efficient way to address any platform issues that may arise at launch. After the initial launch phase is over, we will move the European megaserver to the European datacenter.

what i think there doing now is moving the EU servers from North American datacenters to European datacenters!

Looks like I have a few minutes left to decide wether I cancel the advance order on amazon or not. I was able to play ESO for only a few hours yesterday and it didn't seem to be funny in the long term.
Uhhh<.< I am really sad that I could not play today because of the serverdown-.-

Ok, I have to admit that I got to play more than I expected from the early access, but seeing that this was a planned maintenance means that they knew beforehand that they will cut time off the early access. Without prior information, and that is what gets people so annoyed.

Also, Sunday Morning downtime during EU mornings... I would like to know who thought this would be a good idea. Have you even looked at other MMO's (such as WOW) and at what times there the most players are online? Guess what, it's not Monday mornings. Just saying.

Also, regarding the US players calling us whiners etc. It is untrue that US players make up the majority of PAYING subsribers, and what is the point of having two different servers if the maintenance is still not planned according to the players needs? Without us these poor IT workers would not have a job in the first place (and you don't hear me crying when I have to work at Thanksgiving).

everyone is down right now....so can EVERYONE stop trying to drive this stake between two continents?

IMO we Aussies experienced a 12 hour down time during our peak 2 days ago, we play on NA servers. It was funny to read all the EU customers telling us to "relax" its normal etc etc.

How does the shoe feel now its on your foot ?

So. Still no word on reversing this unbelievable plan? I just find it incredible that at this stage of things - when people are considering whether to keep playing and at a time when so many things are going pear-shaped - that someone thinks going that extra mile to really alienate a major market is a fine idea.

It so evidently is not - and no - the convenience of ZMO staff and work-processes are not factors to consider. The only factor to take into account is not cutting into the prime playing time of an entire continent of actual and potential customers. Because - well you know - you want their money.
