Disguising Vampirism - It's time

Vampirism is an in game choice. Key word there, "choice." Everybody and their brother knows that vampires (in nearly all forms of media) always look pretty awful and scary. If you don't want that look in a game where they exist in the lore...there are a few options:

    1. Stay in Vampirism stage 1
    2. Equip a skin
    3. Wear some kind of armor, hat, or costume that hides the appearance
    4. Polymorphs
    5. Cure the vampirism and go back to being a normal soulless being on Nirn trying to fight the good fight against Molag Bal like the rest of us.

I myself am a vampire and I've never complained about the appearance cause I almost always follow these tips. I'm definitely not trying to be rude or anything, I'm just trying to provide some options. Also I want to reiterate the fact that vampirism is a choice :) I don't hear werewolves talking about how they wish they could look less "scary" in werewolf form ;)

u put lore and yet you conveniently forget to state that in lore vampires can disguise themselves?

Aren't vampires supposed to die in sunlight?

That's already a huge advantage in ESO.

this is tamriel, multiple strains of vampirism exist in it and the strain we are in eso can survive in sunlight

You vampires are so insecure about yourselves. If you dont like it then go to the doctors and get a cure, its never too late. Or you can feed daily to reduce uglyness. Either way you vamps are beautiful the way you are.

no, we spend time designing our characters to look pretty,

Besides if there's an exception made for Vampires, then who's to say the Werewolves won't chime in? What if they don't like looking like a giant dog on steroids but still want to use the skills?

    The werewolf form is temporary.

So are their benefits. They all go away when we lose form.

The benefits of light/medium/heavy armor passives are all hidden by outfits & costumes. outfits let a dual wielding axeman hide his bleed DoT capability under the guise of dual swords, maces or daggers. And now a monster set with whatever crazy proc it has can be disguised as a totally different monster set. That's the point I'm making. everyone else can hide whatever they want, and builds, that can be disguised, are also a choice

There's literally no excuse not to let vampires hide their vampirism. play as you want extends beyond skills alone.

no, we spend time designing our characters to look pretty,
no, we don't want to look like a flashlight, its the same response from the anti hide vampirism crowd and they just don't get it.

That's the trade off. Want vampire power, gotta be ugly. What is more important to you, how you look or certain powers?

What’s the trade off for hiding heavy armor under light armor? Should change the stats too then..just saying you guys need to stop being hypocrites..and I’m a ww so this doesn’t affect me

I never understand those who is against option to hide vampire skin. Why, tell me please why on the earth YOU care how MY character looks like? It had some sense at the very beginning, while there was not costumes around and keeping world true to lore had some sense. Now it should be player's choice.

Even better would be to make it possible for mere mortals to be equals to monsters. I would like to see some other mutually exclusive order similar to the Dawnguard who would innately have passives such as +weapon damage +spell damage, etc. I'd like to see this skill line be a world or guild skill line that you could not also have while being a werewolf or vampire. In this way we could once and for all make the choice of being a vampire about style and less about whether you want to give up HUGE bonuses or not. Face it you are a monster: you should look like one you filthy undead scum!!!

People don't want other people to have fun.

And it was never even lore inappropriate to hide vampirism from the beginning. You meet a vampire in Rivenspire who hides his vampirism. There is also a lore book that says some vampires can hide their appearance.

I actually don't mind it either (people already hide their look). What I mind is the pressure I feel to make a character vampire even though I find it repulsive to do so. I also personally feel races in general play too much importance at end game as well.

    This argument again?
    Ugh...
Z0$ should just create a skill line or some blessing of Arkay or some such, that grants all the passive advantages afforded to vampires, but cannot be used by vampires.
Then all these kindred wannabe's would go cure themselves and stop their blasphemous whining.
Leave the realm of the Undead to those who actually have a spine, or are willing to deprive you of yours and hang it on their wall as a trophy.

or... they could give an optional "enable/disable" button in outfit UI to let people play as they want? you know... becasue no one is forcing you to not look like a vampire, Omni. you look the way you want to, let others look the way THEY want to.

in lore, vampires can and do hide their appearance behind glamour.
ZOS could just add a quest that is only available once you hit vampire level 10 that would reward you with a skin.
that would be perfect. skin that makes you look normal and you can even justify it with the whole "I have mastered vampirism and therefore i can hide its appearance now"

It would make sense for vampires to hide their appearance around towns and such. It would, perhaps, make even more sense for this to happen automatically, so that NPC reactions seem more reasonable. Restrictions can and probably should play a role, for instance like so:

A werewolf's form is tied to combat. Why not a vampire's?

This could be achieved either by a toggle, which would take up one or two skill slots and thus be unpopular during combat. Or this could happen automatically around safe zones where vampires would logically want to hide their nature. (Granted, the latter sounds like a highly unlikely amount of work.) In either case, there'd be an appearance-related functionality in place comparable to that of werewolves -- only in reverse.

A compromise of sorts, since fair's fair.

Not again...if you don't want to look like a vampire, just don't let them bite you! It's completely lorebreaking that almost everybody in ESO is a vampire.

Instead of a disguise, vampirism should be sth like werewolf skill line, without any passive benefits when in normal form, without any class or weapon skills usable when in vampire form (third skill bar). Problem solved.

That's because ZOS attached a 10% resource regen boost with almost no drawbacks to vampirism. Vampirism is a part of every meta game build.
