This helping out when someone is struggling is a two-sided sword - some will be thankful but others will just be angry about you interfering, especially when you get the last hit and the loot is yours. So it dependents really, sometimes I help out, sometimes I just let them do their thing.

Might want to go check out BDO now ha
Had the same, I thought the cp 200 needed it more than me he thought I deserved it.LifenLemons wrote: »Hmm, I thought America also had a thing about receiving the benefits of what you worked for, so someone swooping in and grabbing the loot after you've just battled the bad guys for it seems to be rather bad form. I guess it's the same mentality behind people who will form an orderly queue and people who, well, don't, which seems to be more a matter of good manners (or lack thereof) than competition.I live in America and the rule here is be first and get it first. I do not mind getting beat to a node. I understand I will get a node ganked while fighting. This is how competition works. I realize again that competition is looked badly by some citizens however for all the nodes I get beat to, I in-turn beat other players to nodes all the time. It evens out in the end.
I think the majority of players I've seen actually are respectful, helpful and disinclined to try to steal the goodies from under your nose, but of course it's the probably <10% who have more objectionable standards who tend to get noticed.
This one time I saw a chest, and another person saw it at the same time. We spent about 5 minutes doing emojis, being like, no YOU take it. Only to have a 3rd swoop in and take it lol. Was funny though
Wait, is it other games who has messed up racials as bad as ESO?Azuramoonstar wrote: »MerlinPendragon wrote: »The in game community here is awesome. I love the ESO folks I meet when actually playing.
The forums folks are generally a disaster. I have played many MMOs and even moderated official forums for other games, but I have never seen a forums community that is so quick to complain and bemoan their mentality of entitlement. ZOS is not perfect, but the amount of hate they get on these forums abiut every single topic is at a level I have never seen any other gaming developer have to deal with.
ever see the ff14 forum community?
[removed bashing comment]
ff14 has 2 ongoing threads. " character creation has a race issues" detailing how there is limited real world ethnic options.
and "ff14 gender bias" claiming females get more stuff/better stuff
Playing this game off and on since the release and I do like the game a lot. I also play(ed) other MMORPGs from wayback DAoC(wayback in 2000), SWTOR, LOTRO, Everquest2, WOW and others and from all those games I think ESO has the most rude and inconsiderate players.
Examples:
1: You see a chest or node but theres a mob close to it. You kill the mob and some *** takes the chest/node while you fight the mob
2: You fight a elite and its a close call, other player stands close but dont help, he waits till you die. (I always helpout when i see someone in trouble)
3: You walk up to an NPC for dialog and this other guy comes on his mount and blockes the view. (not a biggie but its annoying)
There are more small things that players do (or dont do) that drives me nuts, but you get the picture. And it happens in all the other MMORPGs I mentioned, but in ESO it seems much worse then in WOW for instance. Is my perception right or are there *** in the same numbers in all other games aswell?
This may sound odd, but I could never understand why people get upset over this. It's not like there's a "loss". The person fighting the mobs get exp and the other gets the node. Win-win, especially since nodes are everywhere.1: You see a chest or node but theres a mob close to it. You kill the mob and some *** takes the chest/node while you fight the mob

I have played a few MMOS, but... have had far less experiences with actual rude players here in ESo then elsewhere...Playing this game off and on since the release and I do like the game a lot. Yeah, that happens. Just people being...1: You see a chest or node but theres a mob close to it. You kill the mob and some *** takes the chest/node while you fight the mob

That is a bit inconsiderate, but not actively -rude-.3: You walk up to an NPC for dialog and this other guy comes on his mount and blockes the view. (not a biggie but its annoying)

That's me. But it happens to me as well.
The point where it starts to be fun is, when a real noob level 4 or 5 or something like that manages to fill the complete inventory and stands next to a cracked treasure chest with just that damn necklace in it and you take it out while he sorts his stuff.

You can't always know whether someone really needs help or not; maybe they are practising and want to see if they can solo whatever it is you see them fighting. I can recall a few times when I was testing a build against a world boss, and possibly looking like I needed help because I'm not the greatest player, and someone decided to steam in and "save" me.
Third-ed? ESO has it's share of jerks - but any group of people does and this community is nowhere near the worst of the worst.
I'd be wary of counting blue cars. It's human nature to remember the bad more than the good, and if you go looking to count blue cars, you're likely going to perceive that they outnumber the red ones even if it's not true.

This applies even more in pvp. It's hard to know when to get involved. Sometimes your ally will get mad at you for interrupting a duel.
