Complaints Should Be Heard

To people who say to stop complaining: You're not helping by saying that, and the people who want to have their issues addressed and discussed have that right. Just because you are satisfied with the level of service you are getting doesn't mean that someone else should just shut up and accept the same things you do. Everyone has the right to ask questions or ask for better service (weather in early access, free or not). If you have no issues with the company's service then fine, but don't be rude and dismissive to the people that do. It's a waste of everyone's time for people to get on this forum and tell people they have no right to ask for better service just because the game is new or the early access if "free" (which is a debatable topic all in it's own).

If you have no issues with the service: Why do you feel the need to keep defending the company you believe to be so flawless? Shouldn't you be out enjoying the time away from the game that you have no problem with? Oh wait, no, you need to take this time to make sure no one bad mouths the game or the service because it's just a baby and can't stand up for itself :expressionless:

Let people complain, the company needs to hear it and decide weather or not to address these issues.

Thank you for reading. I will not respond to trolling comments.

Who is saying Zenimax is flawless?
What we're saying is that you're all idiots if you believe you should get refunds for loss of early access time. You NEVER paid for it so they CAN'T refund you for it.
That's like me walking into a supermarket and asking for a refund on the shopping cart because it had a wonky wheel.

It's not that the Devs don't need feedback, it's that whining in the zone chat and public areas of the forums is NOT the way to get your issues heard.

There is literally an in-game feedback option and multiple ways to contact Customer Service and Support.

    You're still gonna play.
    You're still gonna pay.
Make the best of it and stop acting upset (or legitimately being upset) over a game - use the channels provided instead of screaming at anybody who will listen to get some instant gratification.

...also, not acting rude and dismissive goes both ways. MOST complaints are rude, immature, and sometimes vulgar expressions that do nothing to actually get issues resolved.

Once all the kids can stop spouting nonsense about what Zenimax OWES them, how bad they are at their jobs, and how *** or stupid they must be (which is always amusing coming from people who have likely never written a line of code in their life, administered a server, or designed a single game function) - I'll stop treating them like petulant little children who got their sweetroll taken away.

Complain to your hearts content. The arguable issue is the idiotic idea that a new thread needs to be started saying the exact same thing over and over again. It just makes the board difficult to view and the post come off as whining.

Legitimate complaints do need to be heard. Self-entitled, self-absorbed whining does not. Listening to that type of complaint has hurt situations far more frequently than helping them. If people would consider the whole situation, and the reasons behind things before raging, there would be a ton less whining in general.
  • Msgreenleaf
This, a thousand times this. That's just the way it is and stop bitching are terrible answers to people who have legitimate concerns that they would like to discuss.
  • steinarmspreeb18_ESO
bluesodafizz, spot on, I don't have a clue as to why there are so many that feel compelled to defend ESO by arguing over other peoples perceptions and try to be really smart about it , makes no sense.

We're not trying to defend Zenimax - we're just tired of the hyperbole and complete and utter lack of basic respect and manners in 99% of the whining.

    Productive Criticism = good.
Pointless venting in an attempt to validate your first world problem = bad.

    It's not that hard, guys.

Why do you individuals who say people are "whining" get to decide the difference between "whining" and actually having a problem?

I totally support that, but you making another thread like this just adds to the other 200 we have of them. Why make a new thread, instead of joining in on the other ones? THAT is what were sick of seeing, and THAT is why it gets annoying.

It depends entirely on how one voices their complaints and how valid the complaints are. In society all people are subject to certain standards of behavior. Some of the relevant ones:

If it's not worth crying about, don't. Just don't.

Its alright to complain, but if you do it as loud and obnoxiously as possible, prepare to get other people laughing at you and belittling you for behaving like a child.

If you want to act like a child, prepare to be treated like one.

All of these apply to a lot of complaints I see here. It's just a community doing its job. Which is to highlight those who can't function and don't really belong, and make sure they know they're not wanted. We all do it, don't act surprised.

Simple solution, do not come on the forums then. Why would you purposefully subject yourself to something you know will annoy you. That is like jabbing yourself in the eye and saying 'ow that hurt' and then doing it again.

If you don't want to read complaints then leave the CUSTOMER SUPPORT section of the forums. That is what this section is for :|

Weather people make duplicate posts or not has nothing to do with what I am talking about in my original post.

so kid ran up and took it. Is this where i complain?
Who's in charge here because heads will roll.......
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

It's not up to you to decide whether or not i participate in forums, thank you. If you guys can sit around & complain because you believe Zeni isn't listening or something, i damn well sure can put my 2cents in as well. But when i see numerous threads, that are the exact same thing as the next one, all it does is clutter up the forum, and pushes out the threads where people are actually looking for real in game help.

This is a customer service part of the forum, for people who have problems getting in or within the game, not for people who want to make speeches to the community. (i can't tell you how many i've seen within the passed 3-4 days).

I don't defend people giving others a hard time because they need help with the game, not at all, but there is a clear difference between utter ignorance and someone looking for an issue and looking for help, and clearly, if you take a look at the forums, people are asking for pets, for a free game, for refunds, i saw one asking for a new and different pet, "compensation", etc. because of the bugs and likes.

It is not Zeni's or bethesdas fault people didn't read what they accepted. I posted in this one simply because it had nothing to do with customer support. It was simply a person making a speech to the community, and while i support that, this isn't the place for it.

Personally I am going for 30 days extra free game time. And I will get it too :). It is all about knowing how to deal with customer service. Burn up enough of their time and it is cost effective to just give em what they want rather than keep wasting precious resources dealing with the same thing/person for hours and hours and hours.

I *** $15 dollars, and could care less about the money. It is the principal to me. I ONLY pre ordered because of the 5 days. I did not make an imperial or any race any class and I think the mount blows chunks. My only incentive was the early access period. I do not care if your was or not, you do not matter to me. Only I matter to me.

I am bucking for 30 because I feel early access time cannot in any way be replaced without pushing out global launch, so this is my compromise and an easy sell for a $15 value vs countless hours of wasted support resource time. And yes out of principal I will absolutely do that.

Yes I realize this is the customer support area of the forums, which is specifically why I posted it here. I wanted to tell people that this IS the OKAY place to complain. I see the most benefit for its purpose here.

Absolutely i agree. But at the same time we've seen 10 of the same thread throughout the 5 days, that's why people are starting to complain about people with bug issues, because its one thing to say: "i have this and that bug issue", and its another thing to say: "i deserve compensation" (80 threads later).

No one needs a refund for early access because thats just plain dumb to even ask for one. I would like ZoS to hear the complaints of EU players tho and in future sort out a decent maintence time that does not wipe out basically a whole day a week for most people.

Weekly maintence is likely, and it needs to be done seperate for each megaserver. Otherwise most working people in EU are looking at 4 days a month of not being able to play at all.

So perhaps cheaper subs for EU? Na I didnt think so, So sort out a decent time to do maintence on our Megaserver.

Its a simple solution to make 50% of your player base happy and not pissed off at being restricted on their playtime whilst our friends across the pond get to play in their prime time without the hassle of maintence.

I clarified to you, that us seeing the same "compensation" posts and the similar ones, are not valid complaints and that is why people are acting up the way we are, because it clutters the forums for people who have real problems in and out of game going on.

That is just my 2cents though, and i mean no intention of causing harm to the thread, but were all entitled to our opinions.

I'd just like some reassurance that going forward the PLANNED maintenance times are during unsociable times for European players not, as is current, weekday evenings.

Having to fix unforseen issues during the first few weeks of release is completely understandable and to be expected (especially by you MMO veterans), I'm just concerned that I'll never get to play during the week due to server shutdowns in the evenings :(
