Can someone please just explain to me why people are against this as an option? How would it affect anyone but the one who makes the choice? I can understand those who are againt new level 3 characters with maxed out mages guild, but if all skyshards and lorebooks were given at level 50 then what would be the problem?
Well my guess is they haven't played on console before.

Sometimes, people just get tired of arguing against ideas that should not be implemented in the game. I rarely show up to these topics, or the auction house topics, but that does not change how I feel about them. This is like the 10 billionth time this has been discussed, and no part of this argument, on either side, ever changes substantially.
If there is an achievement or progression in the game, it should be equal for every player in the game. No "options" and no "bypass". Of course, the financial needs of the studio often trump that last part, but that is the world we live in.
I can see no gameplay advantage, at this stage of ESO development, to having options to share skyshards, achievements, POI discovery, lore books, skill points, levels, attribute points, or other earned character-specific things like that across the entire account.
Easy sustainability and longefity of your playerbase.
(tl;dr almost everything except 1st page)
WTB all of you saying "no" your free time and willings to run like "mindless bot" gathering this everything every time on new char
mainly this is my problem why I hate to play alts - becasue I dont have time to run for every skyshard, lorebook on every new char + its not funny for me...fun for me is something like pve etc, not stupidly running trough map only to gather those shards, books because without it I dont have skills unlocked to play anything even on pve while on pvp its jsut no point to enter without unlocked every passive to combat at max lvl
If I am wrong why the positive feedback from the rest of the forums.
Us on consoles dont get the luxary of addons. 7 toons through a bigger grind than a 101 percent on dk64. Why not give us the option?
Are you a console player?

May I steal it?
It really is not going to happen.
!. granting the huge amount of skill points all the sky shards grant to any ne lvl 1 character rolled is doubtful to interest Zos for what should be obvious reasons.
2. this one is much clearer, granting a fully leveled mage guild line to every lvl 1 character is 100% a bad idea. OMG, lol, below 50 cyrodiil would be no place for a new player when much of the field would have meteor on the first day the character is rolled. Not to mention some of the other skills and passives.
Why don't we just sell instantly maxed characters in the crown store. That would solve the issue you are facing. Win/win situation. We get it so easy it is boring and Zos makes some bank. 25k crowns each.

What is even the point of playing the game if you aren't even going to play the game?
Just get everything for free?
Spending days running around clicking on books and rocks isn't "playing" for me and many others. After doing it once, I have no desire to do it again. The boring grind is one reason I won't be playing much longer.
Nope, you can't have my stuff=)

So out of genuine curiosity, why do you guys think grinding the same stuff 8-15 times over is fun?
I legitimately don't understand. Is it just one of those "I did it so you have to" things? Masochism? Having too much time on your hands?

Its not fun grinding the same stuff over and over. You know what worse though? Flavor of the week PvP, and people giving up on something because it doesnt work for them in the first 10 minutes. If everyone had access to all there Skyshards and everything, there would be nothing but Sorcs in Cryodiil and Nightblades in PvE, because everone would have just moved over all there gear from last weeks flavor.
My first 2 Characters where DKs. I quit them both before even reaching lvl 15 because I didn't like them. Now one of those 2 is a vTrials DK Healer, since Homestead. Because I kept with the game and learned how to play DK later, I was able to make a fun build.

Apparently for some people once played, they should automatically get all the things or it's not fun.
Not how I play, but that's me.
Oh oh oh, my turn!

Good point.
Neither of us plays the same way, and we don't have to. But if either of us wants the benefits of having done "X", then... we actually have to do X

I would love to have the option to share the lore books account wide, even if it would make it harder for me to actually level up the Mages Guild.
As for Skyshards, I think it wouldn't hurt anyone but the most vocal self-entitled hardcore elitists, who are a sore sight anyway, to unlock the account wide sharing for one's character as a level 50 reward. It would allow me to choose a different story path through different zones with each character, without the thought of "oh dear, to get this Skyshards I am going to have to spend so much time doing this exact content again and again, ad nauseam".
Just the 2 euro cents of a new player.
I am thinking these same people who oppose 'Quality of Life" improvements in video games are the same people who oppose "Quality of Life" improvements in real life as well.... "I grew up with out Air Co by golly you should have to grow up with out Air Co as well"!
No idea what you mean here. I didnt say anything about how Skyshards and Lorebooks work. Other than answer the forum question of should they be account wide.Maura_Neysa wrote: »So out of genuine curiosity, why do you guys think grinding the same stuff 8-15 times over is fun?

That's not really how skyshards or lorebooks work.
Yes, but not 5 a patch as they switch to the new meta classPeople are going to make alts regardless.
No, you should not make it easier to allow people to make the new cancer build. If you want Charater, whether t is your 1st or 14th, you should have to put a little work into it to make it worth having.May as well make it easier to make alts. There's no point in doing work you've already done

I suspect that you meant this as a rebuttal, but these are really reasons to not have account wide skyshards and lorebooks.

What I do not want is for people to be switching to the new flavor of the month. This wont happen nearly so often with the extra work. I have 10 characters. I've only ever deleted one and I only made it for the extra 60 storage before I caved and got plus.
People will absolutely switch to the flavor of the month if all you have to do is a 3 hour grind to 50 and then you have all your Guilds, Skill Points, and everything to leap into what ever content. I do not want to see 80% Werewolfs in Cryodiil 2 days after Wolf Hunter. I already hate that 90% of Trials runs are 1 DK, 1 Sorc, 1 Templar and 9 Nightblades

No. I will go one further, and say make CP individual. Knowing how to function decently with a stam DK does not prepare you to play a magblade, so why do you get to start so far along with your magblade alt?
