Is 2H Stamina DPS realistic?

    Now for a dumb question, with the changes to night mothers gaze and sunderflame limiting group penetration, is there a place for 2h mauls now to boost it?

    I ask this because I have only come across one 2h automoton weapon and it happens to be a maul...

    From what the math whizzes say, greatsword and battleaxe are better than maul due to the maul's % calculation instead of a flat pen value like major fracture

    Unfortunately 2H is worse than DW in every aspect, in PvE atleast.
    -DW abilities do 20% more damage during execute
    -Twin Slashes, Whirlwind and Bladecloak are just too good
    -Possibilty to have two enchants, different weapon setups and traits

    2H builds are very viable and in some situations even ahead of Dual Wield. Stamina Sorcerer is definitely the favored Class in terms of 2H dps. Tho I also want to try an War Machine Asylum NB Setup with Incap spam.

    I would defo try to use Advancing Yokeda to make up for the low Weapon Crit of 2H. Or Serpent in case you have sustain issues.

    Those look like really good builds. I have a gold infused Advancing greatsword, once I can trait change the other jewels I’ll give it a whirl.

    Relequen is far from a dummy cheese. Relequen’s damage is ON the enemy, so you can move around and apply it, unlike Siroria where you have to stay mostly static (which I think is what you’re confusing it with). It does a tremendous amount of damage, and gives minor slayer; because it’s strong, it’s cheese? In trials I very routinely and quickly have max stacks applied to an enemy. The set is predicated on the user being able to effectively light attack weave, so if that’s not you I wouldn’t use it.

    Back on topic, I do agree with the DW ability superiority. Rally doesn’t have much use during PvE, nor critical charge. Brawler is solid, but like most 2H abilities they’re meant more for survivability than outright damage, which unfortunately lend itself much better to PvP than PvE. The 20% execute passive though is outperformed by the actual Execute skill. For classes without an execute (like stam Sorc or sDK as stated above) it suddenly makes up for one of the weakest aspects of those classes. It shines the most on long execute phases, so trial bosses in particular or adds needing to burn quickly (steamer/overcharger etc.). I tested on a 6mil with 1 bloodthirsty jewels and 2 healthy, so not optimal, but got 34-35 without major fracture. I think with practice and trait change can push that well past 40. I’m convinced now that it is perfectly viable, and not simply a fringe way to play. The community needs to become more aware of this, less 2H users get ostracized because it’s not considered “BiS”
