Would you like to be able to hide your armor slots and make more outfit combinations possible?

We saw this in a stream earlier, but it never made it to the PTS. I'd rather prefer if this doesn't become anything crown-store related, but they most likely want your cash the easy way. (which we all know they do) A new "Blank" Motif could easily be made available in the crown store for let's say 1500 crowns.

Examples for names:
Motif: The Naked Nord
Motif: The Emperor's New Armor

I think the one slot I'd focus on first is shoulders, as there are a lot of clipping issues when they interact with chests and shields of different motif styles.

Followed by belts, which generally fall into either floating buckle or clipping buckle.

Of course I'd like to hide some of the parts!

With the upcoming Wolfunter DLC I was planning to make an outfit only wearing Soul-Shriven Prisoner or Slave clothes just like in tutorial for a pure Werewolf build. I don't want to find a temporary solution for additional belt or shoulder parts.

As I said in the other thread, ZOS already has this feature in their internal build (you can see it on the ESO Live when they were showing off the outfit system). They just need to enable it for the rest of us.

Why they haven't, I have no idea. I'd pay for the feature.

AAAAAAAAAAGH I love the use of graphics and gifs!! Very well done, and it illustrates the concept perfectly. I of course 100% support it beyond just liking the post style, I know plenty of people looking for more options in this regard.

Thank you all for the replies, and thank you for the comment @Recremen , I like adding some extra detail here and there in my work. @Taleof2Cities , I know there’s been threads on this before, but not exactly like this, and I want to bring this to the attention of ZOS.

I hope they’ll add this to the game soon. Other MMO’s are way far ahead. If they’re afraid of losing cash from costume sales, they usually are unique enough that players would buy them even through, if they got the crowns to waste. This feature would honestly just add more variety to the game and more.

It would be so easy to add, and think of the money one could make on such a small feature!

Let's see if this takes as long to implement as did dyeing weapons. I'm sure ZOS has some lame excuse like they did with weapon dyeing... I mean... we've certainly seen the majority running around with pink weapons, right? That was their excuse for not allowing weapon dyeing... just went to show how detached they were from their player base.

I would already be happy if I could hide ridiculously oversized shoulder pieces and hip flaps. Some shoulder pieces look ok on male characters, if they have a really wide torso, but even on them some are still ridiculously oversized. On females most look like they would try to be an aircraft with attached wings - guess it is meant to be ridiculous, but it is just awful like this.

I think this is something we really need as an option in game, I don't foresee everyone running around naked the same as you never see everyone running around with brightly pink coloured weapons/armour. Its just a nice little feature that will add some diversity to peoples created outfits.

Yes as long as it doesn't allow to hide more than 1 or 2 pieces other than the head one.

Otherwise it'll be full of people running around naked.

Not that I would really care, but I don't want it to ruin the fun for RPers.

I dunno, even as someone who kinda likes her immersion, I think someone running around in their kecks is less of a distraction than various players called stuff like Deth Lolpwn leaping about all over Daggerfall while constantly firing off in-your-face spells and murdering the entire populace whilst yelling random incoherent stuff in the chatbox.

I don’t understand why this hasn’t already been implemented. It quite literally has NO drawbacks, at least where things like shoulder and hip guards are concerned.

I agree it's the antithesis of immersion to see NPCs standing calmly next to their own dead bodies, and I prefer not to make it worse, but one of the reasons I've always loved Elder Scrolls is the freedom to customise and play your character as you like. So while I don’t relish the thought of lots of naked characters running around, if I have the freedom to wear delicate silk dresses to battle then I guess other characters should be able to go in their underwear if they want.

... And there can never be too many threads on this topic

Definitely, especially being able to hide shoulders would be awesome.
But on the other hand, a lot of people would hide their pants and that doesn't fit the puritan ideals I suppose

You should only be able to remove 3 or 4 items max. Seeing people just running around in undies (and you know it would happen) would be annoying. I do agree though being able to just remove shoulders or gloves etc would make some of the outfits look a lot better.

...is for them to sell "invisible armor" motiv pages in the crown store.

I mean, the suits in charge certainly won't send a code-jockey to spend their paid time programming the hide function for all outfit slots without wanting to see some profit, right?

But selling people the option... that would appeal to their shriveled greedy little hearts, right?

As for the lore... well, I already said it. "Invisible Armor". Enchanting your sturdy armor with an invisibility spell, to lure your foe into a false sense of security...

Agreed on this, it also would also be cool to see a Sai Sahan costume sometime, but I wish for the "Invisible Motif" or hide armor pieces first.
