The ONLY symbol i would use is a comma, and the only reason id want a comma is because you could give your character a name which is then followed by your own made up title. Ive gone to make names before but they looked rubbish and silly without the use of commas.

for example, a nightblade you could call: Elana, Mother of Shadows
OR
Orbeck, Father of Blades.
Sounds way better than it looking like this:
Elana Mother of Shadows, Orbeck Father of Blades

It would make for interesting character names and i personally would love to see what cool names people come up with.

Couldn't you just replace the comma with "the"?

    Elana the Mother of Shadows
    Orbeck the Father of Blades

...I'd certainly prefer that to seeing names like $$$PwnM0nst4$$$.

No because even when you say "the" you automatically know you need a comma. You could use "the" but youd still need a comma otherwise it wouldnt look right.

    I agree with ovinnik.

It is the character name, not the character name and title. There are titles in the game for the purpose of titles, although they cannot be customized.

Putting 'the' in does not mean a comma is necessary. Here, the title is part of the name. This is why it is "Atilla the Hun" and "Peter the Great", with no comma.

If you want the character name to include a title, you use "the" and make the title part of the name.

the current system is good as it is (you still get to make rediculous names using numbers, which doesn't make you look like a 6yo at all, btw) and i agree, "the" is perfectly fine for what you want to do.

Speaking of names, as a public service I'd like to suggest that the time of super cool pot-based names is over. As it is legal in more and more states, it's like you're now bragging about how much you enjoy the benefits of aspirin.

lol I agree. Anytime I see someone with some marijuana based variant I laugh at them. Not with them. Time to grow up.

You can get creative with some of the alt codes to get a similar effect.

it is a little peculiar that you're authorized to have Wing Ding #472 in your name, nut basic punctuation is somehow outlawed.

Why not? people are always complaining about how their name was taken, now they can just be [*++V^1^V^1^C++*] which would look pretty cool, and they could have the original name they desired that was stolen by someone else, thus reducing the number of threads on name resets...

Idk it would look weird with actual titles and your nametag would probably cover all of mournhold.

Elana, Mother of Shadows - Battleground Butcher
Orbeck, Father of Blades - The Flawless Conquerer

Remember titles are optional though and if you don't like the titles you can earn, your name can be something of your own. The name isnt just a title, its a description and/or character trait or attribute.

I agree, I think it would also be nice to be able to use cyrillic characters for naming toons, I was planing on making a Slavic version of my main, but I can't do that now

Putting symbols in your name would make it difficult to get in groups when the leader has to type the name. I refuse to look up the code for some random symbol to invite someone
