I want a Refund

BigJulian
BigJulian
Since the 5 day early pay period. I have been unable to play. My system is up to date, and I have done all that I can to fix the game and try different settings. I have repaired and uninstalled and reinstalled too. After 4 days I have come to the conclusion that it is not my computer. Anyways this has been a big waste of time and I want a full refund. It sucks that even big time companies such as this can scam you.
We have contacted our Customer support team to help you solve your issue.

I find it odd that you say it is not your computer and you are being scammed, however when I go online I see loads of people running about. Perhaps it is not you computer, still I wouldn't go so far as to say they did all this to scam you. Your best bet would be to send in a ticket, or if you call them and talk to someone directly.

It's clearly a compatibility issue with the game and your system. Else none of us would be playing right now. I do understand your frustration though, i'd be quite pissed too if i had bought a game that i could not play.

I got a refund yesterday. Click on Support on this page and then click the email option. They were fairly prompt with my request.

I really don't want a refund. I want to play. A lot. But I'm starting to feel like I'm going to have to ask for one. I've been unable to play since day 1 of headstart and in spite of trying everything suggested on the forums and by support, it doesn't work. I really hate this.
  • taho22b14_ESO
I got a refund for now. I hope that much gets fixed over the next month or two so that I can return.

I haven't been able to play either because of a metafile bug that was supposedly fixed. I contacted customer support. They only told me to restart the client. Waste of time

I don't think it should be difficult to get a refund. You should get your money back in no time. You pre ordered the game and wanted a refund before it's officially released? Strange.

I'd want a refund too if I couldn't get something to work...

I had the same problem with the launcher, until I ran as administrator, runs perfect everytime, try either starting the launcher as administrator or just bypassing the launcher and clicking on the eso application instead

I've noticed from a friends computer who also has ESO and can't get it working that his version of Windows 8 he never registered his version and unfortunately he won't be able to play the game as he got a pirated version of Windows 8 an can't register his key. Also someone somewhere posted that Beta versions of Windows that are not supported probably won't run ESO.

There'll be a fix in time so unless you really have had enough, I'd keep trying customer support, even if they brush you off with basic fixes you tried that don't work, they should get there in the end and maybe extend your subscription time? I don't know if it counts for early access, depends on the interpretation of that as a free bonus. There's probably one weird little reason with a few people's PCs, or something their end, but it'll (almost certainly) be fixable somehow.

They are working on it, at least. I once bought Spellforce that came with a licence code two sets of digits short of the set (it was unusually long) and all they did was tell people they were working on it, then told me it ages later only when I chased them again.
If at first you don't succeed, keep trying. And again. Eat a cookie, read a wiki, I dunno, just try to relax, the frustration will only give you a headache.

If I have to disable anti-virus software to play a game, the game is deleted, and I go for a refund.

In 2014, there is no valid reason to build a game that requires the disabling of security software to play.

The fact of the matter is, an MMO should not be this complicated to set up. Other games have it to where you can just download it and begin play. The fact that most of the people on the forums have had to readjust computer settings or jump through all kinds of loops in order to get a game to work which they paid 60$ for is extremely inconvenient. Patience after the first 3 days of no play is one thing but its been almost a week now. I am using a windows 7, DELL pc. Everything is up to date. I checked it in compatibility and it says the game is incompatible. I don't know why, I have emailed the support team multiple times and still no help. I am a HUGE fan of Bethesda but for a company this big, this type inconvenience is unacceptable.

Your PC most likely doesn't meet the minimum spec requirements to run the game. This is something you should have checked prior to buying the game. Sorry :(
  • boonjurieb16_ESO
Plain and simple. You are in no way entitled to a refund of any kind.

If ZOS wants to be nice, then perhaps they will give all Early Acces people 2 days of free play time. But theres no legal grounds for your claim.
    Let's make this work!

Hyperbole much? It's not a scam since it's working on other computers and it's the exact same software being sent to all of them. I have a computer, you have a computer. We both got the exact same software but we don't both have the exact same computers. It works for me, not for you.

It's your computer. Try dealing with tech support instead of whining like a freaking baby and using idiotic terms that don't apply.

It wasn't complicated for me to set up.

I downloaded the software, ran it, it worked. No problem. I play on Win 7 in 5940x1080. It looks great on this 3 year old machine.

The only thing I had to do was open the outbound ports on my Fortigate.

I am getting a refund too, hopefully, still waiting for them to confirm. I've not been able to get past any load screen to character creation or beyond, managed it fine and played well in one of the beta tests but on launch doesnt work and support hasnt been very helpful, so deciding to get a refund and maybe down the line try the game again if my mates havent jumped ship to another game by then.

Technically if there was a problem like that then perhaps you have to set rules in your security software to allow it, if the security software is quite secure. Disabling it for a second to see if that is the problem could be useful, just so if anything you can rule out the security software as the problem.
