I'm confused, will I still have the option to remorph cheaply? By cheap, I mean the exact 2-3k I pay now. Or is the new price to remorph 1 skill the price of completely clearing all skills?

There is a flat charge to respec, just like there is today. Instead of clearing all of them, like it does today, you can choose to modify (add/remove skills) individually. The cost is the same, whether you change one skill or all of them.

Is the cost to respec still based on the number of skills you have? If I have a lowbie alt, which on live would cost, say 5k to respec, then it would still cost 5k with 2.0? Or will it cost a flat fee of 13,200 (from OP).

I see people mentioning a flat cost for respeccing, but I'm not sure if that means it costs ALL characters, no matter how many SPs they have, 13,200 gold or just characters who have 132 SPs.

The cost to respec or re-morph has not changed from live. It is just that it no longer automatically wipes all your spent skill points. You can add or remove individual spent skill points.

Some were hoping for the cost to be based on how many points you changed. I doubt ZOS would do that as I believe they want to discourage frequent skill point changes. This is still a big quality of life improvement in my opinion since I can now change active abilities if I want to try something different without having to ensure I don't miss spending a point in one of my many crafting passives, for example.

I am almost done researching jewelry. I will wait to re-spec till this goes live so I can easily undo the research passive points and use them elsewhere without having to redo my entire skill points.

I like the change despite of the cost. It was a pain in the ass reskilling 3 characters from time to time, now I have 10 and all of them need something to be taken care of. I was hoping for this change for a long time...

Anyway, just a suggestion, maybe it would please the others if the cost was scaling in some way, with... lets say total amount of skillpoints of this specific character. Or with the time between the respecs (like the cost for fast traveling without wayshrine: basic cost, but using several times cost more). Any kind of scale would do.

    (No, I m not rich)

Thanks, that's what I was expecting after reading the patch notes.

This is not Respec 2.0, this is respec 1.1
2.0 would bring 2 or more builds, we can have saved, and be able to switch to them out of combat for free. And I'm still beeing good, since in most non ancient mmos, this is respec 1.0

Trying to Unallocate Passives while in WW Form consumes the Gold, but does not Unallocate the passives. (Shrine to Stendarr)

Trying to Unallocate Passives while in WW form does not consume a Skill Respec Scroll, and does not Unallocate Passives. But will consume a Skill Respec Scroll if any Ability is Unallocated or Morph is changed in Tandem with the Passives.

BTW: MAKE THIS *** CHARGE PER SKILL POINT REALLOCATED

(Seriously. It'll allow you to be hella more flippant with skill changes in the future without pissing off your player-base)
(And seriously, skills should be designed such that they can be used fairly interchangeably. Balance in PvP by having PvE and PvP applications being separate morphs of some skills...?)
(Also, I hate having to spend 15K gold changing a single skill simply because I'm a casual who enjoys both PvE and PvP)
(It really makes me have to consider hard what skills I need to invest points in, and what I need to cut out because I can't afford it at the moment)

^^ Some have suggested a flat fee to change skills, as with CP. However, it would have to be fairly low; otherwise, low-level characters would be paying more than on live to change skills.

I like your suggestion, and many others, to have it just charge for the skills you change. Maybe along with that, increase the cost per skill back to 100g. This might address any concerns they might have with players changing up their skills too often (though I don't know why that's an issue). Or, if they want to charge based on total SPs, just lower the gold cost per skill to 10g.

Unfortunately, as much as I too would love it, a "fee per point changed, not total spent on character" scheme would devalue the crown store respec scrolls. That is not likely to happen.

I do agree that a flat fee -- perhaps scaled based on level -- would be nice. There should be tons of metrics that show what current players pay to respec, creating a good average of respec/remorph costs should be relatively simple. Failing that, maybe something like 8-10K Respec and 2-3K Remorph at CP160 as a maximum. Or cap the maximum costs at something reasonable, but use the 50-per-points-spent until it reaches that cap?

There's a number of ways to go for this. I imagine if a cost update isn't implemented right away, it can be patched in later once there's more Live feedback.

I repeat from earlier though: Clear communication on how this works is going to be critical to prevent a lot of butthurt players that don't understand how it works presently.
