Looking for good off-tank sets

So, I'm setting up a trial group and am looking for good set combos to run for our main and off tank.
A lot of people swear by powerful assault, but I think it doesn't bring an awful lot to the table. (correct me if i'm wrong plz)
What I currently have in mind :

Main tank: Torug's + Alkosh
Off tank: Ebon armory + Hircine.

Why I'm concidering Hircine's is because someone told me it doesn't only decrease cost of skills, but also reduces cost for breakfree, block, dodgeroll and bashing. (plz let me know if this is a false statement or not).

Also looking for a good enchantment for off-tank, since crusher gets override by another crusher. Wich is problematic, since torug's crusher infused hits for 2740 pen, and crusher infused hits for 2108 pen. (was thinking lightning enchant with either charged or infused to have another chance to set off-balance)

Any suggestions are welcome as well as arguments of why my ideas are right or wrong.

As far as I know the hircine info you got is not accurate, but will go online when I can to double check with some testing.

I would recommend another Alkosh in there for better up time and spread. When it comes to enchantments. Some fights you are indeed just there to help debuff, but in a lot of fights the second tank is tanking other targets such as adds or another boss. So wearing Crusher is not bad to do in those situations, both should also be wearing Weakening on their off bar to apply that, and when you are helping debuffing then you could always use a set up where you focus on the weakening enchantment.

The main tank/off tank combos vary from fight to fight, its not always the same.

yeah i kinda figured the info about hircine was inaccurate, just needed confirmation. sounded like itw as too good to be true tbh :P but yeah about crusher, seems like a waste that roughly 1% extra pen gets wasted, might as well not run torug's at all then.

the second crusher is only a waste if you tank the same target. Look at something like the twins in Maw, the Rakkath fight, twins in HoF and other fights where you are not tanking the same target as the main tank, unless you have crusher than that target does not get debuffed. The extra from a 2nd Alkosh gives more than a second Torugs in most situations.

There are indeed fights where you do tank the same target and mainly help debuffing and then crusher is not needed but for dual tanking fights it is.

Yeah i understand, tho the point i was trying to make is that if you run crusher infused with torug's it applies 2740 pen, vs no-torug's infused 2108 pen. so if main and off tank keep attacking the main boss, 2740 and 2108 will bounce up and down. didn't mean 2x torug's on setup

meant to say that might as well remove torug's from the setup because the tiny little extra pen debuff gets overridden anyway.

I'm not trying to be a smartass or anything, I am genuinely curious. Appreciate the effort btw ^^

Ah, yea that makes more sense, just some miss communication I guess. Yea Torugs is more often used in Situations where it would be difficult to get synergies but that is not as much of a problem as it was before, its also more of a Dungeon set.

In some Trials where the Bosses hits REALLY hard its more common to see Alkosh/Plague on Main and Alkosh/Ebon on Off. That is not always the case, but its common. Crusher is easy to keep up with Infused and if you do a Staff on your back bar for Wall of elements that DoT will help in more ways than one and keep crusher up time at 95%+

Sadly there is a bug that prevents this from happening. The crusher don't bounce up and down. The bug prevents the change in the enchants power. To explain more in detail, it goes like this. Let's say I have a Torug Infused Crusher and my friend has non-Torug Infused Crusher. If I apply the Crusher first then my friend keeps it going, it will stay as Torugs Crusher. Sounds good right? Well, if I drop Crusher once (which will happen due to mechanics, movement etc. in many fights) and my friend applies the normal Crusher, my whole 5 piece set will be garbage for the rest of the fight or until we drop Crusher on purpose. This means that if someone is using Crusher, this person should be the only one using Crusher enchant. Otherwise it is heavily RNG based.

The more important problem is, if only 1 person uses it, your team will lose AOE DPS in trash fights. In the current state of the game, DDs get so little benefit from investing into percentage damage bonuses due to extremely high amount of blue CPs they have. Best option I found is DDs spending 7 points into Piercing/Spell Erosion and let the tank use something else like Akaviri Dragonguard, Powerful Assault, Sunderflame etc.
