Why is the Bloodmoon Flat?

Anyone else notice that the sky with the bloodmoon in it looks totally flat? It just looks like there's a big mural painted up there. Maybe those "Flat-Earthers" are on to something after all?

@ZOS_GinaBruno Can you confirm if this is how its supposed to be, or is it currently missing its normal maps or something?

(Note: this is in Hunter's Glade)

    It is flat, because it's a 2D skybox. ;)

I think more of a fading out effect and more shadows at the edges would solve it. The lighting angle seems a bit off.

It looks exactly like the moon. As it should.

It is flat because the earth is flat

Everything on your screen is technically flat. They create the illusion of depth by using perspective techniques and changing scales.

For example, the craters near the edges of the moon should be mostly smaller than the ones near the center to give the illusion that the center ones are closer while the edges are farther.
And it is all lit up so there is no shadowing that will cause the appearance of depth. That's how a full moon looks.

Someone forgot the shadow lighting on the moon itself.

The moon and lighting in the Glade are what put me off it as a potential house.
The light is a muddy orange brown, the moon is obnoxiously large (hiding the lovely sky they did, it's really very pretty) and the texture quality on the moon is atrocious.
I get it, it's a blood moon, but give it some high res textures and make the ambient light more neutral, less Fallout during a radiation storm.
