All this is determined by fps and ping..
As an Australian i cannot weave at all, the game at 250-300+ ping just will not allow animation canceling and weaving skills do not go off, you must press the mouse buttons continually to get a response from the game..
At 300+ ping i cannot even get my 5 skills to go off evenly, usually my 3rd skill gets a cooldown, but no skill goes off.. Every single time.
Funnily all this happened when summerset arrived with the insane light attack and heavy attack stupidity.
From the little you've said op do you have high ping because i get issues you get.. Also Sorcerer has the easiest time on weaving other classes do not..

Done properly you are literally cancelling the animation of the light attack with an ability. So technically weaving is a form of AC.

Light attack weaving uses animation canceling. The age old “is a square a rectangle” debate. Light attack weaving IS animation cancelling (so your statement is wrong). Animation cancelling is not necessarily light attack weaving (ie they aren’t synonymous but one is a version of the other). Have a nice day.

Technically it is since you are cutting off the recovery animation of a skill with a subsequent light attack. Im not going to argue semantics.
The point is, when the contentious subject of whether or not animation canceling should be a thing, the majority do not refer to light attack weaving. They refer to the act of using block, bar swap and bash to cut off the recovery animations of instant cast skills.
I also felt the need to stress this distinction because light attack weaving is specifically designed in game to function just as it does, whereas the benefits of "animation canceling" (again the act of using bar swap block etc to cut off the recovery animations of skills) are almost completely negligible to an actual dps rotation depsite popular beliefs on the contrary.
The op should have simply asked how to better perform light attack weaving. Light attack weaving and using defensive off GCD actions such as block or barswap are completely different things and using a blanket term like animation canceling to conflate the 2 is disingenuous at best especially with ridiculous misconspections that accompany "animation canceling" discussions.
