Sprint speed and cost caps

Does anyone know what are the caps on
1) sprint speed
and
2) sprint cost reduction?

I have a well-fitted Fiord+Darkstride set on each of my characters, plus 20-30 points in Sprinter, but was wondering whether I'm not past some caps, making the setup partially pointless.

Bonus question: what are you "runner" builds?

1) 200% normal player speed.
2) I believe there is none. But there is only so many ways to reduce sprint cost.

200% normal player speed means I can add up to 60% worth of +speed bonus and only just hit the cap while holding the sprint key?

Yes.

Example: major expedition (+30%) + 3x purple swift jewellery (+27%) + sprint (+40%) brings you very close to the cap.

Edit: But be careful, it's addictive. I can't imagine playing with lower movement speed anymore, even so it gimps my build in various other ways.

Pretty sure Sprint is only 30% faster.

Reduced the bonus movement speed from the Major Expedition buff category to 30% from 40%.

Increased the bonus movement speed from Sprint to 40% from 30%.

I guess I can automatically substract 21% because of the 7-piece set bonus of medium armour.
That's 39%.
I guess I'll have to eventually enchant Fiord jewellry with Swift, because from some basic testing, I do need Darkstride for the cost reduction. Without it running through delves and whatever else where I want to skip trash would be half impossible. And that means I can't use any other speed buffing armour.

You can transmute jewelry to swift, it will cost 50 transmutation stones per piece though.

There's also the Steed Mundus, Med armor passive, and Sprint redux CP + speed bonus.
(Orc passive too)

It was my understanding that Sprint was the baseline (100% speed) with Run, Sneak, RP walk being reductions of that, so 200% cap would be 2x normal sprint speed, vice 2x running speed.

@Bergzorn is right though. Everything after that feels like slow motion.

Sprint +40%,
All 7 medium armor +21% sprint
Major Expedition +30%
CP star: +2% ( it counts lol)
Steed Mundus: +5% if you're wearing all well-fitted (i believe it goes up to 8% with full divines)
Minor Expedition: +10%
3 swift purple jewelry: +27% (9% each)
Orc racial passive: +10% sprint
Fiord's legacy: +15% sprint

Note that some bonuses apply to all movement, while others apply to sprint only.

Now take your pick of the above until you reach 100. Anything more is redundant, unless you want to reach speed cap without sprinting

As for cost reduction, there are diminish returns, you never reach 0. I don't know the exact formula thought.

I use Prisoners rags+cowards Gear with 3 Swift jewellery. In medium armor it and minor expedition from Stam sorc hurricane it puts you right at cap. The Magicka back from prisoners gives you unlimited sustain through dark deal. Great farming build.

I actually found it pretty easy to transition back and forth between max speed characters and base speed, as there are some characters I just prefer to walk around on.

that said I find swift while not the end all be all trait (still pretty sure that's infused) is the most effective (imho) on classes that don't have any built in mobility, so pretty much templar and dragonknight.

You can make a very fast sprint character with an orc stam sorc.

Get 3 purple Swift jewelry pieces (27% speed increase)
Orc passives (12% sprint speed increase + 10% speed cost reduction)
Medium armor passives (up to 21% sprint speed increase)
The Steed Mundus (5% speed increase)
Cast Hurricane (minor expedition - 10% speed increase) or equip
Cast Rapid Maneuver (major expedition - 30% speed increase)

And I believe the middle green tree has a 120CP passive that increases movement speed by another 2%.

For cost reduction you've got:

Prisoner's rags 50%

Race Against Time 50% x 50% = 25% (75% total reduction)

Darkstride 50% x 25% = 12.5% (87.5% cost reduction)

8 Well-fitted (w/shield) 40% x 12.5% = 5% (92.5% total)

100 CP in sprint cost reduction 35% x 7.5% = 2.6% (95.1% total)

After that it gets silly, but....

Orc racial passives 12% x 4.9% = .59% (95.7% total reduction)

Then you stack speed from:

Race against time (30%)

Swift x 2 blue (16%)

Orc Passives (10%)

Sprint (40%)

This gets you to 196% and Wind-running is actually the one speed modifier that is multiplicative, meaning that it's worth 2% more base walking speed, but as you it approach the cap it's actually nearly a 4% buff,:

1.96 x 1.02 = 199.92% movement speed

And you are at the speed cap essentially while sprinting with the stamina cost of it reduced to 4.3% of 546, or less than 24 stamina per second.

Any class with an instant magicka ability or passive that generates stamina upon casting would be able to not only infinitely sustain sprint, but actually build up their stamina while sprinting, so Wardens can do this in two ways (casting magicka heals for green balance and/or using their bull netch. DKs can spam igneous weapons and shield. Stam sorcs would have to slow down for dark deal once in a blue moon perhaps. Templars would probably still drain stam, but most of it could be eliminated using an argonian's potion passive as it would only cost around 10k to sprint for 45 seconds. Leeching strikes plus a potion would cover it for stamblades I think.

I read on a forum post by @Reorx_Holybeard that Darkstride and Prisoner's rags either are, or at one time were, additive, effectively canceling all sprint cost; but I'm not sure if that was corrected, or if it remains unfixed, or even whether or not those two sets are and were working as intended (since they are both same-source reductions, meaning they are both additive set bonus reductions in the same way that major and minor buffs functionally stack). If someone knows that would be helpful and if not, it probably should be tested.
