✭NoTrust me I like your idea very much OP and even though this an imaginary world that we play in, I just cant imagine deconning potions with current game mechanics.
Unless a new concept of extracting essential-oils/toxins is introduced into the game where we can perform extractions from only looted potions/poisons is possible, which in turn can be used to make a new series of concoctions. But trust me no one would like a complex system like that, maybe just nerds like me.
So no I don't ZOS would find it feasible to implement in a logical way.0 -

I think you take it a step further. You get concentrate of health or magicka powder. Get ten of each, combine with a bugloss, get 4 magikca/health potions, (with passives of course).

I definitely "love" stories about how someones kids are smarter than me. Tell me more. Seriously, I don't think, that the game really needs any type of "deconstruction potions" feature. It's quite easy to aquire any ingredients. Though, it would be interesting to have more "deep" system, which will be based on some pseudo-chemistry laws, like in The Witcher 3. For now, at least for me it's not quite clear how alchemy actually works in Nirn. It looks more like some weird kind of "magic", because it's lacking any explanations how it works on molecular level. I don't remember any lore about molecules or atoms. You can't speak about obtaining a citric acid from a lemon juice without any molecules existing in your universe, right? Maybe the matter in Nirn is not equal to the matter of our universe, maybe it consists of spirit of some kind or a thought? A world based on the idealism, huh? Who knows.

Alchemy is already one of the easiest crafting skills to level without needing to decon anything.
Also, there are multiple ingredients that have the same effect, so you would be getting a random dust of two flowers minimal, unless they do it similar to enchanting where you get very little back if anything.
Ultimately I don't think it's needed or necessary. An expansion into alchemy potions, like ones that can be thrown, is what I would rather see them do.0 -

It makes sense yes. I want them to add throwable potions personally. The white quality we get in drops is substandard in every way to what we craft. Plus we can buy the junk from NPC traders. Those junk potions would have to be removed from the NPC traders for obvious reasons.
Someone had suggested over a year ago to increase harvest rates from potions similar to nodes for blacksmithng, clothing, etc. They has a very rational comparison utilizing the use of potions and comparing to the other crafts.
His/her suggestion is must more logical that this and a much better solution overall.2 -
