How about powders of flowers, randomly? Much rather decon and see, than vendor. Would be super nice!
I definitely "love" stories about how someones kids are smarter than me. Tell me more. Seriously, I don't think, that the game really needs any type of "deconstruction potions" feature. It's quite easy to aquire any ingredients. Though, it would be interesting to have more "deep" system, which will be based on some pseudo-chemistry laws, like in The Witcher 3. For now, at least for me it's not quite clear how alchemy actually works in Nirn. It looks more like some weird kind of "magic", because it's lacking any explanations how it works on molecular level. I don't remember any lore about molecules or atoms. You can't speak about obtaining a citric acid from a lemon juice without any molecules existing in your universe, right? Maybe the matter in Nirn is not equal to the matter of our universe, maybe it consists of spirit of some kind or a thought? A world based on the idealism, huh? Who knows. Can definitely get citric acid from lemon juice. What's the difference at the end of the day between this and chucking whole flowers in a pot with water? Nothing.logarifmik wrote: »Sure, but only when OP will demonstrate us, how he obtain a lemon from a lemon juice.
Do you just chuck whole lemons in some water with sugar and call it lemonade?
My 10yo daughter has successfully extracted citric acid from lemon juice.
Finally, the voice of reason.Someone doesn't have a basic understanding of chemistry. Combining is easy, separating is hard.

You could, technically do it through some dehydration process. How do you think scientists break down things and reconstruct them? How do you think we can isolate genomes in our DNA?
Is it easy? No. Can it be done? Absolutely yes. That is not to say however, that you would get the whole hop or wheat or whatever back from whatever alcoholic beverage that you made nor would you be able to salvage every ingredient back out of it. You can continue to strip them down to their base properties, but you would never get the original items back in their original state except for the water that was used.

Wouldn't the water end up being "Pure" water too through the distillation process?
Agree. I would like to see a new skill in Alchemy allowing for concentration - maybe 2x, 3x, 4x? Does that make sense?DeadlyPhoenix wrote: »DeadlyPhoenix wrote: »jedtb16_ESO wrote: »Hops + natural waterjedtb16_ESO wrote: »unbrew beer?

Yes it would. Which is why I said this could technically work to begin with, I just dont think it's needed. I would like to see them expand alchemy in a different way first rather than just allowing us to deconstruct trash potions.
Anyone who doesn't think it's possible needs to go do 10 seconds of research.

It makes sense yes. I want them to add throwable potions personally. Mass tripot an area to give all resource regen to your teammates or throw an explosion poison that corrodes enemy armor for a time or explodes and deals flame damage over time Molotov style.jedtb16_ESO wrote: »DeadlyPhoenix wrote: »jedtb16_ESO wrote: »Hops + natural waterjedtb16_ESO wrote: »unbrew beer?

I get it, thats why some people mention "dusts" because technically you can get a hop byproduct out of if and technically potentially brew another beer with it though it may not taste as good.
Don't you see this argument of yours illogical? Any fictitious universe or narrative must be self-consistent, logical. Writing is basically a lie, and the writer must be a good liar. If one want to implement any bizzare feature in the narrative, he must provide a bunch of adamant reasons to do so. And by reasons I mean some background lore. Otherwise, one will end up with new Star Trek: Discovery episode.Heck...yes.
I get the whole "it's not realistic" thing, I really do, but we're a bunch of elves, orcs, talking cats and lizards who fight demons with balls of flame and can turn invisible at will. I can't imagine our suspension of disbelief has any really hard limits.
For the same reason we cannot decon provisioning.
The white quality we get in drops is substandard in every way to what we craft. Plus we can buy the junk from NPC traders. Those junk potions would have to be removed from the NPC traders for obvious reasons.
Someone had suggested over a year ago to increase harvest rates from potions similar to nodes for blacksmithng, clothing, etc. They has a very rational comparison utilizing the use of potions and comparing to the other crafts.
His/her suggestion is must more logical that this and a much better solution overall.
