How much was the 5 days early access?

Valn

A lot of people are saying they paid for the 5 days early access, but I can't find anywhere on this website where it says how much the 5 days early access was (along with the pre order items)

Was there an additional fee for the pre-order bonuses? An additional fee being on top of the full game?

If anyone can show me it would be much appreciated :)

Thanks community!

When you paid to buy the game you were offered 5 days early access as part of the deal.

To put it super simple for you, imagine going to a restaurant and you see on the menu steak, salad and potato chips. The waitress comes out and you get salad and steak. Where are the chips you were promised?...
  • seangcxqb14_ESO
The chips were just a bonus ;)

    Nope.

You were offered the bonus as a free perk for pre-ordering the game. It has no monetary value. You paid the same price then as you'd pay now for no early access, because it was free.

Valn: Yeah man this one right over here.
Me: Hmmm, I sure do like it, but I dont know if I want it right now.
Valn: If you buy it now, Ill give you a free tank of gas.
    Me: SOLD!

Valn: hey man lemme get like half of that gas back, its important.
    Me: -_-
Valn: Chill out, it was free.

I didn't, but if you bought Explorer's edition from the website directly you paid about £50, from a physical retailer about £35 (I got that one). Only difference is 5 day early access rather than 3 (though of course due to downtimes I only got 1 of those).

Ok. What did the menu say?

Buy salad + steak and get FREE chips on the side. One time deal

Waitress comes out and tells you there are no more chips.

Do you get angry and upset and ask for refund? Anyway why would you pay upfront for a meal? confusing

You are incorrect. But to stick to your analogy:

Free cookies with order is posted on a sign outside or advertisement.

You place the order. The order is separate, and you pay for the order... but free cookies is an additional item.

Two instances occur here. The order first... and the free cookies.

This is where "while supplies last" comes into play, because this has been hashed out in courts. "Free <item>" has been drug around the courts all the time.

Free cookies with order (while supplies last)

For the MMO, the early access is the free cookies. The <edition> is the order.
(While supplies last) is the ToS that say maintenance can and will occur.

we did get them chips, but perhaps the portion size was a bit smaller than promised. Anyway, if one has ever played an MMO game, they should know, especially in very early days, that maintenances and patches are mandatory.

Anyway .. i always prefer a smaller portition of better quality chips over huge chunk of bad ones.

Both you and the semi-derp before you that made a comparison to a restaurant are making the hilarious mistake of comparing a one-off transaction to a 24/7 service that has been down for about 20 of the 80+ hours it's been available.

Your analogies both suck and you should both feel stupid for using them.

Ultimately the concept stands, despite the questionable analagies. Something was included in a purchase, and it was only partially delivered, therefore people are dissatisfied.

Yeah , you wont find it.

Honestly , if you dont see the value of it and what people mean by "paid" , then the jokes is on you OP , not on the people complaining.

The early access added value to the product , take it away , and that value is lost.

Yeah honestly I could give a *** about this whole thing, but I find it funny that people can't understand that a customer would be pissed if they didn't get what they paid for... it was the selling point for some.

Now i know new games have some glitches but if you ask me what i got for my extra 20.00 the best would have been the 5 day pre game play which was not even that. It was more like 2.5 days. The server problems, Glitch fixes and Like Right now ITS DOWN AGAIN !!!!. NOT with the extra $ 20.00 who cares about a pet.. who cares about imperial race we want full 5 days Pre access and we get not even close????
I think these paying people on here deserve something for the 2.5 days missing!!! if you agree Post !

Well, EU law says you are a fool.

Quote EU law that states you can override a binding contract where the goods of sale have been delivered.

We need a good contract lawyer for this thread but essentially an offer to do business can contain items with tangible and intangible value, if both parties agree to the deal then both types of items are deliverable under the terms of the contract.

Small print can apply but if not explicitly part of the initial contact between the two parties a decent lawyer can shred it.

@Valn IF you read on the menu that you will receive these items then you are entitled to getting them.

I never made the analogy regarding maintenance/issues and because it was only an analogy of course it was only regarding certain aspects and not the whole situation. I can make a list of differences between a dinner and a game but the point still stands.

You asked if you had to pay some fee for the 5 days access, because you asked this I assumed you were just ignorant. It's a one off deal YES and included in that deal is 5 days of early access which in my case I haven't received.

Why ask an ignorant question if you already understand it anyway?

I know what you're getting at.

    Here is an example:

I could have purchased the game at 20% off ($48 instead of $60) but chose to spend the $60 to receive the 5-days early access by purchasing the game directly. I guess you could say I paid $12 more to have the extra play time.

WIth that said, I am disappointed at all the downtime but, such is life. I will get over it because this game is unbelievably FUN.

You were given 5 days early access, not 120 hours of playtime... huge difference.

But that being said, I did not buy the 79.99 package for the mount, waste my inventory space maps, rings, waste my inventory space vanity pets, I paid for 5 days of early access that nowhere states that the 5 days are beta testing. Had they removed the advertising for 3 to 5 days early access their Early Income on this game would almost be nonexistent. I call bait and switch.

The game is new. Problems will arise and it sometimes takes downtime to fix them. Even games that have been around for years have occasional unexpected downtimes, and these occur during paid time, not bonus early access. I am dissapointed that I am not able to play right now too, but this is the nature of mmos and you just have to deal with it.

In other games are working at night time for EU ppl. I respect the urgent downtimes, but no planned. :S
