How much gold do you have on average?

I'm sitting on 14m atm, and it's all coming from good old days. Only good farm in more than one year was Fang Lair motifs in last two weeks.

It's not hard to make money in this game but it's getting real hard to be a millionare day by day, unless you are a lifeless farmer.

I agree that things are going down like crazy. Transmutation and crown motifs have a big share in this. Not that i'm complaining tho, transmutation system is the best thing we got no matter what.

I would say it'd be nice if they added more ways for people to make money but it's complicated af. Community also takes part in it, i remember on these forums people exposing Alinor furnishing plan farm locations in day one just so they would be worthless.

I'm sitting on a good amount of gold and material stock so it doesn't really affect me anyway, but kinda sad when community is the reason for community becoming poor.

Market has crashed because things are more readily available and people can’t be bothered using the basic guild store interface and/ or spending 3h searching for one item.

You have to wonder if the backwards UI isn’t a further attempt at directing people toward the gem/CS. Well, you don’t really, since it’s pretty obvious that it is.

The scale is pretty limited. I had 5M after my 1st year, 25M after my 2nd, and with the 3rd not yet up I have 50M+. And I'm but a casual trader with no attempts at flipping. I'm usually in the 100-200/500 range in my trade guilds so I bet there are plenty of players with hundreds of millions or even billions in their accounts because they chose to make trading the centerpiece of their gameplay.

Perhaps. But EvE Online is all about that (and "player interactions are the 'content'"), meanwhile ESO is just another PvE MMO that only needs a basically functional economy.

Around 2.5 million basically from playing the game. I have never been in a trade guild and very rarely ever buy anything. The gold is simply what has accumulated over time from quests, rewards etc.

Between 100k and 1.5 million depending on how long it is since I bought a new house or went on a furnishing shopping spree. Once I bought a cheap house, just about 130k. And then I spent 350k on trees alone.

Just over 11m across 8 chars and I have a crafting bag that is bulging at the seams.

My household is more-or-less self sufficient these days, so I do not have to buy in very much on a regular basis.

I do not 'grind', do trials, dungeon runs or participate in 'power-selling'. The funds have slowly accumulate from simply playing the game, questing and not rushing everywhere. All my chars do node harvesting on their way to a destination - usually on foot. They like to rummage through all the sacks, crates and containers in dungeons. If a Dolmen is up whilst passing, they will join in the fun.

My outgoings are fairly low, the biggest expense being on Motif Chapters that are obtained in Group Dungeons, Trials or from Thievery. I wait to buy them when prices fall to a more reasonable level. My main crafting char knows every in-game obtainable motif except for the two recent additions. I sell off any duplicate rare motifs at my excellent main Guild Trader.

I will buy a Monster Helm or a Shoulder from the Golden but only if it is something that will be very useful for one of my chars. Playing mainly solo, I found that BiS gear was useless for me, without the buffs and debuffs one gets from the other members of the team. I have to balance DPS with Healing and Tanking to keep one foot out of the grave!

Having a comfortable amount of gold is reassuring for me because I do not have to rely on RL money to obtain items from the Crown Store.

Got my Count title/achievement with gold, not crowns. Got all the available motifs during the anniversary event, not in too much of a hurry to get the new ones. I keep enough on-hand in case the weekend vendors have something irresistable. I have 21 houses and won't buy any more until I decorate the existing. So I don't really have much to spend on currently.

my sweet spot is 1 mil in my emergency stash + whatever amount I'm in progress saving for a larger purchase. play long enough and its very doable to have that much without being super awesome heavy market player or anything like that. i mean... a chunk of my weekly income comes from simple task of quickly running through crafting writs on alts once a day (you get the same gold at rank as you get at maxed out crafting)

in any case, this poll is very flawed as there is a great deal of difference between someone like me who spent the last month or so saving up the 3 mil i have in addition to my 1 mil emergency stash... and someone who is sitting on 10 mil plus.. and yet someone else who is sitting on 100 mil plus.

technically, we are all in that same area of last selection of the poll... and yet.. we are most certainly definitely not even remotely in the same ballpark of wealth or speed of accumulating aforementioned millions, so... /shrug

I just have a question for all the multi-millionaires out there...

Do you spend gold on maxing out motif / recipe knowledge on more than one character?

If so, is it worth it? Do you get enough master writs to justify spending millions of gold and hours of farming filling out motif knowledge on more than one character?

    I'm just curious.

    no.

it's not really worth it since you will get master writs without knowing every motif/recipe.

I have less than 1 mill on average in actual gold. But if I sold my craft bag to npc merchants I could come out with 3 or 4 mill.
