No just no. If anything they need to bring back the old system where your toons could not share the same home campaign. Players being able to faction swap because the way pvp is going just sucks.

My crafter is my first toon - he's AD. I'd very much like to make him EP like my main and alts that aren't just mules.

Just a personal preference. For whatever reasons, I enjoyed PVE and PVP on EP much more than AD pre One Tamriel. So I'd like the option at least.

Why did they do it anyway? Open One-Tamriel. Were there a lot of complaints?

Personally I don't care, since I'm not particularly invested in any of the Factions and I don't do PvP, but, still, I wonder why they did it in the first place?

You could still go to other faction sites later in the game though originally, yes?

As long as it isn't easy to change factions a second time. We dont need ad traitors downgrading to argonian sympathizing ep and then coming back

Now you know that's not true. They're on here constantly complaining about it, dropping their subscriptions and then complaining some more about it, all while yelling at ZOS.

I don't pvp often, but I see the same people when I do. They res me, throw me heals, never give me a hard time for sucking or tagging along and occasionally invite me without me asking. For all the salt on the forum, that crowd sure treats me great out in cyrodil.

There is no way in hell, I'm logging in on the other side and shooting at those guys. So my dark elf can't participate in the one campaign im comfortable with. I'd love an aliance change token and there is definitely a right reason to want it. It's not just about flavor of the month.

Let us select which faction we want to fight for, when entering a campaign. Locking all characters to the choice, for the entirety of the campaign, which would prevent faction hopping to the winning side and perhaps help with spying.

You know i had your same feelings some time ago.

I did my first character being DC, and so i began my career, i met new people and made friends, turning out they were ep, and i wished to go ava with them but i could not do so. And i wished for a faction change token.

Then i realised my buddies wont even play ava so... well i fight for dc and always will do since its my main and i can play ep with alts... but i hate ep and ad so i dont see that thing coming anytime soon, im sworn to kill all tomatos and bananas where sight ends.

Agreed, we need faction change for many reasons :)

    1) PC EU AD zone chat is so toxic, its a pain just to watch :-/ Rolled a DC and nothing like that in zone chat = I want my Main to switch.

    2) You maybe startet out as DC, found a guild from your home country later on (Read, after One Tamriel), where most of the player base is EP. You want to join them in Cyrodiil, you can only roll a new toon.

    3) You find some RL friends in the game and they all play a different alliance than you = Reroll Toon.

All of the above senarios I'm sure most of us can relate to. We can surely also relate to not wanting to make Master Angler, Trophy Hunter, Black Market Morgul aso. Achievements again :-/
Zenimax could make Achievements accountwise instead of character bound. That would fix the problem as well.

Seems like you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. There are ways it can be done so its not so easy to keep changing. They could make the player have to go through a long quest line in order defect. I think it would be good for the game. More likely they could just charge crowns like they do for a race change. The could do so for a class change too. I think race change is too expensive myself, but there is an opportunity for ZOS to make some profit here from those not as frugal as myself.

As I always say when this one comes up : I am all for alliance change - If Done RIGHT!

And by that I don't mean some token that pops your character to a new alliance, I mean a whole DLC sized questline with an cloak and dagger (Or since this is ESO, "hood and dagger", perhaps?) spycraft flavor and a "faction loyalty called in question" plot, where you get to make a big choice in the middle - stay loyal to your alliance, or defect to greener pastures elsewhere... with the rest of the questline being different depending on your choice; either your character works to prove their innocence, find out who framed them and stop the -real- plot, or they quest to prepate their defection, dodge the agents sent to bring them in and grab a few juicy secrets on their way out...
Such a DLC would take paople all over tamriel, possibly reusing some old "once" regions with new mobs, as well as centered around a neutral region where spies and agents from all alliances can meet to spy hard (think cold war era vienna for example), some city-state or small region that never joined any of the alliances, perhaps in western skyrim, or a former imperial territory, or even a diplomatic location like a post-mainstroy idle of stirk... and it could revisit some old friends who work in the shadows, like raz and naryu...
And naturally there could be nifty titles depending on which way your character goes, like "[original faction] loyalist" or "[original faction] defector"...

There might even be a chance to introduce -new- factions this way, factions that cannot be picked from the start, but can only be defected to through this. Minor factions that do not start in a major stronghold in cyrodil, but only get a ill-secured (and thus raidable and even enemy-campable) outpost somewhere on the border... which also would not have any "base" locations for elder scrolls, only what they could conquer on their own... like "Imperial Rebels", empire legionaires turned renegarde, or "outlaws" that fight for themselves only, or whatever...

And there could plausibly be PvP drawbacks to defecting. Like, defectors having to re-earn their alliance rank, or gaining AP at half the usual rate for the first six months in their new alliance (as people won't trust a traitor right away). And of course they should give a bonus to AP rewards when taken down by their former comrades, because...

Because as the game gets older this game gets smaller. Before they did the one problem you faced was long queue times in dungeons. With cross faction grouping, now it’s not as bad. Like I said, you couldn’t group with other factions. One Tamriel addressed that. Think of it like this, before Tamriel there were 3 ball pits. The AD zones, the EP zones, and the DC zones. People in the AD zones could only interact with people in the same ball pit, and vice versa. This was the primary reason towns were so empty. Because while we gain players, we also lose more. To counteract this, ZOS combined all the ball pits to what you have now. One giant ball pit. Before I could be in Grahtwood on an EP character because of Caldwell’s silver and it would be completely empty, while for someone on AD it would be very full. Every alliance had their own instances in every zone (instances = mini servers). One Tamriel has removed those and now the game appears to be alive again although we are slowly diminishing.

Many would consider that a good thing. doesn't it kind of work out that way anyways? Even if you could join the same campaign with alts in a different faction it wouldn't stop the losing side from quitting. As long as they are still in Cyrodiil pvping that is what matters.

This is actually a really awesome idea; switching sides in the war would have to be a monumental, pivotal decision and would definitely justify something like a quest. Plus, a one time quest per character is also a good way to prevent people from constantly switching sides. I'd back this.
