Should ZOS take down the pvp servers until they can be stable? (all platforms)

I haven't been able to pvp during peak times for over a week, and now I can't even stay logged onto the game at any time in a pvp zone. As soon as there are more than 10 or so players in my area, I lag out and usually disconnect. I'm reading that it's just as bad on XBOX. At present, pvp is not an option for many people I know due to technical issues with the game.

Should ZOS forgo the pvp aspect of ESO until they can build some stable server platforms or figure out why their software is causing so many issues?

I suppose I should have phrased it as just shut down pvp until they can figure out why there are so many issues.

The issues aren't just PvP related though.

The same exact problems are occurring just as frequently on the PvE side as they are on the PvP side.

    They're game-wide issues.

I suspect they have a firm grasp on what's wrong at this point, but depending on what you believe they can't or won't fix it for awhile.

Is there a difference between u not going into a pvp area and the pvp areas not being there?

In my opinion it is not just a PvP thing. After the last patch I could not log into 2 characters that are stationed in Stonefalls. Still can't as of today and just don't care anymore. In the past 4 weeks I have played less and less because of the games overall performance. All I really want to do is PvP. I have tried several times to PvP but within a 1/2 hours or less the game freezes, not cool. Personally I feels like at times I am wasting my time on this game.

My suggestion to ZOS would be to strip the game down to the bare bones and start over. I'd still play if only the game would let me....haha

I voted shut down pvp until they can make it work. At least that way I won't have the repeated frustration of getting lagged so hard I disconnect every time I try to engage anyone in pvp.

This is something that must be fixed before the midyear mahem event. So if shutting it down til they can fix it is what it takes, so be it.

Understand but there is a lot wrong with the game not just pvp and I pvp quit a bit as well as pve, but they can't and won't shut them down since they would lose to much money

lolz.....well, ya, I guess that's a pretty valid point. They may never fix them. You'd think this repeated, essentially continual issue would be addressed by now if they had the ability to address it.

ofcourse not, allowing us to play while they work on the servers is still a good idea.

What ZOS needs is more dedicated servers. But, that will cost money and ZOS is all about making money and spending as little as possible.

Why? Those that want to play despite the instability can and those that don't want to play due to the instability don't have to. Where is the upside in taking them down?

Except, we can't play at this time. Pvp is not something a lot of players can do with things the way they are at this time. For many of us, the only difference between shutting down the pvp campaigns and running them while dysfunctional is nothing more than saving the frustration of trying to play on a system that is so broken.

I am voting yes, assuming that this would allow them to fix the stability problems. If that is what it takes to fix the lag, then do it. I wont even complain about my eso+ during the downtime if it actually fixes the problems.

There are no PvP servers they are all the same servers they would be taking down the game and the game would cease to exist.

More importantly with no one playing how would they know if it is fixed?

I don't understand that. Why take it down for everyone just because you can't control yourself to not play it and get frustrated? You want to limit everyone else's choices just because you can't control yourself. Just don't play it until it's fixed and allow those that do still want to play it, play it.

Yep, let's just ignore the mountains of video evidence (not to mention the pinned thread at the top of the page recognizing the issue) that's already been provided on the forums alone. This is a major issue and it's affecting everyone. To pretend otherwise is absurd at this point.

Nope. Instead, they should take down the crown store until they have found a fix for server problems. Just as a token of goodwill, let's say...

A lot of problems exist in PvE as well as PvP. Long/Infinite loading screens happen often to me during trials (especially AA), and some of the problems in PvP (like the invisible/non-existent wall glitch) could be taken care of with a hotfix. I'm not sure shutting down one aspect of the game will do much for that aspect when there's so many other issues that affect the game as a whole.

PvP has never been perfect, but it worked pretty well on console all year this year, until Update 18 dropped. That broke PvP big time.

I have no doubt they'll fix this, but it's taking way too long. Undo the changes, or deploy the fix. Throw money at Sony and Microsoft for expedited patching either way, and do not delay.

Judging from the mounts I see in PvP, plenty of players spend money in the crown store. It's usually a lot easier to keep existing customers happy than it is to find new ones.
