Maintenance for the week of September 22:
· [COMPLETE] NA megaservers for maintenance – September 22, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 UTC) - 10:00AM EDT (14:00 UTC)
· [COMPLETE] EU megaservers for maintenance – September 22, 8:00 UTC (4:00AM EDT) - 14:00 UTC (10:00AM EDT)

Now even I'm pissed off. prime time for Eu really?

I have been defending you time and time again on this forum over the past few days when people have been complaining about short notice downtime.

I understand unforeseen downtime due to unforeseen problems.

But to get an announcement 5 mins ago that the servers are coming down ready for the official launch tomorrow, thanking us for taking part in early access and telling us you will see us in 3 - 4 hrs, what the hell?

Prime time for Europeans, and zero warning this was going to happen. If you had told us pre early access that this would be happening, I wouldn't be complaining in the slightest, but the first we hear of it is a message appearing on the screen???????

You need to sort yourselves out because you are currently needlessly making yourselves enemies. There's the guild member that cancelled a night out with his mates just 30 mins ago and is now to late to go, that would have gone had he known etc etc etc.

Again emergency unplanned patches or downtime, even if it's for 12 hrs+, I accept that is a part of a new release, but from the wording of the message, this was planned.

For a change, I am not happy and I hope this lack of communication isn't how you intend to keep doing things.

    Hello 0justaboo

Iam from the Netherlands but playing on the NA server, shall i tell you something funny tho....in the NA server we get the same announcement so its not only European people who has this issue..

And then the most funny thing ...yesterday the NA server was down for about 14hours strait...while the European server was online the whole time anddint know what was going on.

I understand your frustration tho and i agree with the downtimer...i payed for early access and now i already cant play for 18 hour in it....thats a full day with 6 hours sleep...

I can only hope one thing , that the people who have access to the game right now , in the early access stages , will be compensated for this , because , the downtime is just ridiculous

I agree, they are handling this extremely poorly.

at least, i have to agree to this post. i really never wrote something about all these down times, because that's what you usually get, when you play a huge game in its first release days...but seriously, out of my five days early access, i was able to play around 8 hours. because i work 100% and now i wanted to play a little. just entered the game and 10 secs later, there was the message that servers are shutting down due to the world wide release.
i really don't know why i bought that imperial edition, since for me, the launch of this game is just one big disapointment. i'm a bit angry now, to be honest, i think i should drink a beer.

thats just the issue it revolves around NA time most of the down time is while NA is at work which happens to be EU main time. If EU and NA mega servers are separate then why note take them down at separate times?

Server shouldnt of been brought down at peak time, i hvant got chance to play early access due to my slow download speed of the game and server being offline or patching since ive bought it. Take the servers down early hours of the morning

Well I would think the EU server does, or at least should? Just like I would expect the US server to revolve mainly around US time, taking it off line for PLANNED maintenance when the majority are inconvenienced least. In other words, I would't expect them to do planed maintenance on the US servers between 5pm and midnight.

But it's the lack of notice that really gets me more than the time.

Had they simply warned us a few days in advance, I wouldn't be so annoyed.

Seeing as they have 2 seperate servers. They should have taken down at seperate times...Took down the eu server to patch during prime yesterday as well...

ignorant... go look that word up because you are ignorant.

The us server was down for 10 hours maybe they didn't want to further screw them over did you think about that? Also it is widely known that there are a lot more paying customers for this game there than here.

Yes, I agree that we should have had some sort of headsup other than a 15 minute warning in regards of downtime before official launch. I can understand your frustration.
But I am sure the communication will improve, there are small things overall that can be better in regards of notifications and stuff.

That said, I think that it requires a little bit of tweaking and work on the servers etc. before the official launch, which is happening in a few hours.
Let`s just hold our horses and hope things will improve in regards to downtime in the (near) future.
I have a good first impression of this after my 5 day early access, it`s been a smoother launch that I dared to hope for, thumbs up for that.

I understand the frustration, but you should expect server downtimes during the launch of any MMO. In the past decade I have not seen a single launch go completely glitch free.

Its called following the money. Americans are by far the majority of the playerbase.
  • seangcxqb14_ESO
Is there a reason they can't shut down just the NA server, and shut the EU server down when it's not prime time?
  • ldwulfub17_ESO
It seems like a communication problem more than anything else... I mean, they knew that the launch was 4/4... they must have known that they would need to take the game down a few hours before launch... so you would think that they would have set the downtime for "launch" ahead of time and made everyone aware of it...

If anything, I'd suggest they seriously reconsider whomever is in charge of community relations and/or to start inviting that person to team meetings.

Another gaming company shitting on EU players during prime time. ALL scheduled maintenance should be done OUT of prime time. Jesus if I shut down a service to paying customers during the prime time I would get hinched!

Well if they waited until midnight EU it will be primetime NA. Not everyone can get what they want. Time for you to go outside and get some fresh air it seems.

Totally agree. You guys are shooting yourself in the feet if you:
    - Don't announce planned maintenance in advance (5 or 15 minutes isn't)
    - Plan maintenance in primetime

I really like the game and hope to play it with my guild. But I also know that a lot of my guildies won't have the same patience if you keep doing this stuff.
  • hillrdb16_ESO
They could have done this at 8am EST. That'd be round 2-4pm in EU.
They say it was planned. Was it a Donkey that did the planning?

No they arent shitting on you, its noonish in the USA during prime work hours. What did you think they would pay overtime to make people work at 2 am here?

I wonder if you EU people also realize that your servers were up all day yesterday while US was down for about 14 hours. Please stop crying about a 3-4 hour downtime.
