Update for Crashes/Freezing on Console

    PS4 NA Vivec it is worse than ever Sunday morning anytime you are about to take a keep game freezes even when solo.
    Working in the population with most players favor every time.
    @ZOS_MattFiror you are in charge about time for some real explanations.

    Everyone on consoles (Xbox or ps4) should contact Xbox or PlayStation support and get a refund back on there eso plus. The only way to start getting this game fixed is by taking action and hitting them in pocket.

    before the update this morning, I was able to load my 15 player almost 30 time w/o any problems, no delays or Long Loading Messages, than the update. It took me almost 20 min to log on to the server, all had the long loading messages, but that would lock up.

    Got a of lot game crashes in fang lair dungeon until we all activated skelleton morph AND put off music and all sound effects.

    Playing pvp today and pretty much froze at every keep or outpost upon arrival.

    I don’t believe I crashed again upon relog at the objective.

    But I would crash at the next keep or outpost.

    Seems to crash less if I stay to resources or on the outskirts of the keeps and outposts.

    During the CWC disaster I went to Sony and got my plus refunded bc obviously ZO$ wouldn't do the right thing. I encourage everyone to do it. I cancelled my Plus subscription last week. No point in paying extra for a broken game

    Froze again after playing about 15 min and taking 2 keeps. Only enemies were npcs. Xbox one x NA.

    90% of the freezing I have experienced was in keep defending before the fix... rarely froze in an offensive attempt.

    Since that patch

    Any kind of defense or attack on a keep or outpost seems to be the primary cause.

    Maybe it’s in the new ap calculation introduced in summerset? That’s when freezing started.

    I 100% agree with you!! Tonight after the campaign reset on Xbox Eu it has been nothing but issues.. constant game freezes.. emp groups that are invisible and blowing people up to odd bar swap issues. Basically this game has it all when it comes to bugs and there is pretty much no signs that this Dev team can fix it. It is time for some company to put their big boy/pants on and do what ever it takes to get this game fixed and playable.

    Here is an idea.. maybe take some of that Crown Crate money and hire Microsoft and Sony to fix your problems with this game!

    The game freezes around keeps, and even outpost. Anywhere there are a lot of people, the screen freezes. I have waited up to 10 minutes on a frozen screen, because the music keeps playing, so i thought it mighy fix it's self, but nope. Capturing keeps feels unplayable right now. Been playing for about 2 hours and it keeps happening. I do notice the black characters pooping in but that fix doesn't seem to be working in my opinion. Im on original ps4.

    This plus start complaining to Sony and Microsoft that Zenimax is selling an incomplete game that is not working as advertised.. not to mention what damages the constant crashes may be causing our constoles.

    Yes I am mad and yes this is all on ZOS.. it is their crappy coding and non proper testing on consoles that leads to this CR@P!!

    Hi all,

    Today at 10am EDT, we’ll be disabling a feature on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 that could be causing some of the crashes and freezing you’ve been experiencing in higher populated areas, such as in Cyrodiil. This feature allows characters to load in faster, and by turning it off, you may run into solid black players more often as they continue to load into the area.

    We do want to stress that you will still experience crashes and freezing, but our hope is this will help lessen the frequency of crashes. While we did some internal testing first, the best way to know if this is contributing is to simply disable it on the Live servers; it’s very important for you to let us know if you feel the frequency of crashing and freezing has lessened or stayed the same. Your feedback, along with crash reports we receive from first party, will help us determine if this feature should remain disabled or not.

    Turning this feature off will not require any downtime, and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s disabled.

    Looking forward, we do have some fixes coming in the next console incremental patch (about 3 weeks from now) that will resolve a lot of the crashes, freezing, and disconnects you’ve been experiencing lately; PC will receive any relevant fixes in future incrementals as well. Thanks for your ongoing patience while we work through these issues. We want to get these fixed as quickly as possible.

    gina, the game was fine early sunday morning, than the patch from hell, I had to quit, fell asleep during the loading screens just leaving a dungon or fast travel. very very pain full.

    some of the things that you can do to stop all of the extra player loading and unloading

    1. have hireling mail come only once per sat with everything included, this will cut playing loading 40-50 percent.

    2. get rid of the 20 hour daily's and put everything on a day basis, when you have 15 toons you never know when they are ready to receive product or when you random is ready, so you keep loading and trying w/o success.

    3. Dump all the malware from the load, big over head with very little use to use players, just let every one play and knock off the BS.

    4. Less loads equal less problems

    let us know when we can start to play and enjoy the game vs all the BS

    Why should we contribute to their coffers if they won’t prioritize us as loyal players of their game? We’ve paid money for crowns and subscriptions and DLCs just like new players have.

    End game content has been unplayable for a month now, and it will be at least another 2-3 weeks before they fix it because they don’t care enough about us to put more than one engineer on fixing the permafreezing and pushing a fix up sooner than later. They’d rather make us wait until the incremental patch.

    So what is it we are paying for? At this point it is broken end game content, mediocre service, and a company that doesn’t care about its LOYAL, LONG TIME customers and more about their bottom line.

    Take a history lesson from every successful company in the world, ZOS. The ones that care about their customers are the ones that succeed for decades on end.

    We matter. And you’re losing all of us. Youve already lost a LOT of people. And when you lose the remainder of us? Your company won’t be able to come back from it. Don’t take our tone wrong. We want you to succeed. But you have to put us first. And you aren’t.

    I love this game. And I love the developers. But I’m tired. I’m tired and frustrated of being told “We understand your frustrations”.

    You don’t. You really don’t. If you did, we’d have gotten a fix for the permafreezing by now.

    Which really bites, because I’ve got so much invested in this game. I’ve made some lifelong friends with this game. I’ve learned valuable little life lessons with this game. I’ve bonded with my soon-to-be wife over this game.

    And I’m watching it die because the investment in its customers is lower than any company I’ve ever seen.

    Game has been freezing with hard crashes that corrupt the game clients ability to find the servers when trying to log in after a crash. The game will hit a loading screen, or will freeze mid action, and the game will not recover from that.

    I still have to completely close out of the game client, the "quit" the game from the Xbox dashboard, then let it sit untouched for 10-30 seconds before I can fire up the client again to try to get back in.

    This has been happening since the game update that arrived about 3 weeks before Summerset released, and even after you disabled that certain feature, the game crashes and freezing have not decreased in any measurable manner.

    I also dont ever PvP, so everything listed above is happening in the open world, delves, public dungeons, group dungeons, and towns and other public gathering places.

    I use a 2Tb external drive, so that ESO is the only game actually on my Xbox HDD. I have the 1Gb Google fiber wired in with an ethernet cable, so my internet/connection isnt the issue.

    The issues still happen at all times of the day/night, so it's not just limited to "peak" times.

    While I know all of this is well known to you, the staff at Zeni, and the game populace; as per your request, this is my experience with it, and it has remained unchanged since he hat fix on June 28.

    My friend, while they certainly appreciate the detail, the issue has never been our internet. It’s always been their game’s code and their servers.

    The night is dark for us, the loyal fans, and it is only cascading into further darkness. The ends of which our minds haven’t the senses to even fathom.
