Is it possible to start a new character in Bleakrock Isle?

I first played ESO when it came out and started there, and would like to start there again. But last I played I was thrown into some place Morrowind.

You can port there from any wayshrine, and start your adventure there :)

With each chapter youre given a new tutorial. What you need to do is talk to the Mysterious Figure or whoever in Davons Watch, which will then take you to the Wailing Prison, and from there, Bleakrock.

That is from Wailing Prison you will go to "Your Character's Faction" starter island, be it Bleakrock, Stros or Kenarthi's Roost.

It is true you can use a wayshrine to travel there as soon as you begin a new game, but the NPCs will still act as if you have done the old prologue. They will say that you were found unconscious, and pulled from the water and so on.

If you talk to the hooded figure, and play the new version of the original prologue, the dialog will match what happened, and make sense.

no matter where you spawn in-game, just go to your starting city, where a hooded person will come up to you and give you starting area quests.

    Yes.

All the new expansions come with a new starter tutorial... but... you can bypass that.

As mentioned, just take the nearest wayshrine to your factions starter city (Davon's Watch in the case of EP), find a hooded figure who brings you joyful news from a mysterious benefactor, and follow that questline. That starts the original coldharbour tutorial, which will land you on the starter isle. Makes for a much more enjoyable experience if you like to follow the stoties with your characters...

Why is this the accepted answer?

The answer is no, you cannot start in bleakroc if you have any expansion. You start in the expansion zone, the vanilla start does not exist for expansion players. You can start in the expansion zone THEN teleport to bleakroc, but that does not mean you are starting there.

This seems like a chill answer ZOS would give because they're too lazy to give us the choice of where we want to start a new character.

There are many answers to this. If you refrain from buying any expansion like Morrowind or Summerset you will still start in the original starter areas. In that case the answer is yes. If you however have purchased either of the new chapter expansions you will have one of the new chapter starter areas and then a quest to go through the base game starter story by finding the mysterious benefactor NPC in your starting city. In that case the answer is no, you can't "Start" there but you can still do the storyline progression. And of course the lazy answer is use a wayshrine.

You never actually start in Bleakrock - you started in the Wailing Prison. From there, you went to the starter islands - for a few months, then it was changed to the start zone (Auridon, Stonefalls, Glenumbra) and you had to take a ship back to those islands.

You've always had to travel to Bleakrock, or at least do the tutorial first. You can still travel to the starter islands, though you may have to go to Audi/Stone/Glen and take a boat there, the same was the case before Morrowind even dropped.

Wait what? New characters start in morrowind? When I made my Warden I still started in auridon, but talked to someone to go into the prison if I wanted too. Otherwise, the main stories were still the same. Have they changed it again?

Do you have Morrowind and Summerset or did you just get the Warden class via crown store? In the latter case you would still start in the original zones, because the starting area is determined by the chapter, not the class you play. I'm also not sure if Morrowind still has a new tutorial, is you get it as DLC. Might be that it defaults to the old one, now that it is not a chapter anymore.

@xinic5 i do this every time. Just port to Davons watch and go from there.

They really, REALLY need to ask you where you want to start. Classic makes much more sense.

so it sounds like the easiest way to find out all this stuff for sure is for you guys to buy base-ESO on various systems you've never played on and test the various combinations. do be sure to report back, thanks.

if you only have the base ESO game you will start in the wailing prison and then go onto your starting island depending on your chosen alliance, skipping the tutorial will just send you to your starting island.

if you have either morrowind or summerset isle expansions you will start in either Vvardenfel or summerset isle, to start the main storyline you have to wayshrine to either daggerfall, vulkhel guard or daven's watch where you will be approached by a mysterious hooded figure which will start you on the main coldharbour questline.

    Finally, the correct answer.

The only difference to starting on the island was the option to skip the tutorial if you played another character.

Not sure why ZoS chose to go the Morrowind/Summerset route, but they really break the game for new players who probably ignore the hooded figure and are deep into the story of people stating they have no soul.

Why is ZoS so afraid of giving options to people.

How difficult would it be on the character creation screen, if you select to play through the tutorial, to program a 'select start location'?!? I mean, you're already given the option to skip the tutorial completely if you've already played through with a different character... so to me that says they know how to offer the options but are just being too lazy to offer complete options.
