Dodge cheats?

Has anyone else seen this? I spend about 90% of my ingame time doing pvp. I don’t believe cheats are an issue in this game. Besides some bugs here and there, seems to be a pretty even playingfield from my perspective.

However, within the past month or so, i’ve ran into two individuals (multiple times) which made me go “hmmm... something isn’t right here”. I ran into both of these guys 3-4 times each and something just feels off with the amount of dodging that they were able to do. And this is without dodge-rolling. I’m aware of the meridian set (i believe thats the name). Without exaggerating, i would maybe hit them 1 out of 10 attempts.

This could be chalked up to RNG, but its odd that it happened with every encounter i had with these two gentlemen.

Anyone else notice something similar?

The Blessed Meridia set will cause attacks to miss, rather than be dodged, and will show up as such. If it's actual dodges that you're seeing, without them rolling around, it's probably just Major Evasion being streaky (and I suppose it's possible for Wardens to stack Minor Evasion with it, as well).

There was a guy in Vivec the other night griping about this very thing. Seems like he thought they were cheating. This set was pointed out to him, but he seemed suspicious anyway.

Thanks for the info. It was certainly dodge and not miss. The two guys i speak of were both nightblades. One magicka, one stamina. Definitely some strange encounters. The first time or two, i chalked it up to RNG and maybe i was just missing something during the fight and wasn’t focusing on the fight as much as i should have. By the 3-4th encounter i paid extra attention to everything going on and it was how i thought it went down. An oddly large amount of dodges without dodgerolls.

Doesn’t Hist Bark give Major Evasion? Same as shuffle or mirage would. I believe it also requires you to block if i remember correctly, and they were not blocking during all this fumblejazz

I’m pretty sure there’s a bug with the outfit system that is causing certain players’ roll dodges not to animate as roll dodges. I’ve been in a few situations like OP described - all relatively recently - but it was against people who I knew weren’t cheating/ I asked them how they got 5 shuffle dodges in a row and they said they roll dodged... it clearly didn’t animate on my screen but I believe it.

If you aren’t seeing them roll dodge at all, odds are they’re roll dodging and the animation is buggy.

I was facing and watching a player that followed what you said.

What I noticed was he was Dodge rolling, it just wasn't syncing correctly with the offensive animations.

I just chalked it up to just an animation bug of sorts

I may be remembering wrong... but wasn't a certain streamer banned for using some kinda targeting CE? Like made him harder to hit with Inc dodge or smaller target or something?

This happens every so often. There have been lots of threads describing the same thing, myself included. It’s probably a combo of shuffle and dodge roll. Maybe they’ve even got major and minor evasion going, who knows.

The people passively dodging stuff issue has been around long enough to think it might be roll dodges not animating.

The real question is are they bugging that out on purpose, as it always "the usual suspects" you see it happening with, or is just an artifact of animation cancelling everything (probably not manually).

Even if it is some kind of broken code i doubt ZOS can even fix it, much less identify the issue. I have no faith in that company.

They're quick cloaking. Major evasion doesn't proc much but a nightblade will dodge every ranged attack launched so long as they cloak momentarily before it lands.

It's why they are so OP and why the nerf to major evasion and the dodge roll cost cooldown never should have been implemented.

It could also be they’ve beefed up their movement speed or are sprinting which can make them harder to land attacks on, especially in lag conditions.

Oddly the cases I've seen it be an issue has been on non-nightblades.

I used to see it occur frequently versus "anger Kittyego", so much so you couldn't hit him. Obviously not "quick cloaking" on a stamplar.... so it's something else.

I’m pretty sure OP has Xv1 me on multiple occasions and tea bagged so it’s probably just a l2p issue, and not a dodge cheat.

Xv1 is highly unlikely. I solo unless my duo partner is on. I don’t play well with others. Teabagging is very probable.

I’ve been playing since beta spending the majority of my time in pvp, so i am well aware of what does and what doesn’t happen in pvp.

Don’t pretend you didn’t enjoy a nice bagging from the Zeromaz

Those attacks will "miss," instead of being dodged.

I vaguely remember that outfit sometimes make effects not show or animations or so. I've seen Shuffle not showing through my outfit sometimes. It wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Cheats are a thing... Never convince me otherwise. Who knows if that's what this is though. ZoS needs to incorporate the ability for players to check other players builds. It shouldn't be secret. At least without costumes you could kind of tell.
