What is the speed cap? How do we know if we've hit speed cap?

I have a very fast scroll runner build for pvp. He can run about 70% as fast as a fully trained mount, and that was before jewelry crafting and the addition of the swift trait for jewelry.

So, I got my main crafter all trained up and just transmuted a couple of the rings on the build to swift, and I don't think he's any faster than he was before the 18% speed bonus the two swift rings give. I'm pretty sure that 18% speed bonus from the rings is wasted on this build. My scroll runner build is Darkstride/Cowards.

So, what is the speed cap, and how do we know if we are hitting it?

Interesting I also would like to know.

ZOS nerfed the speed, there was a build that was like twice the speed of a maxed horse but was nerfed due to running so fast the server though you were speed hacking

100% .... and you add up all your speed bonuses to know how fast you are going.....

I'd like to know too. Especially since we have more options now with swift jewelry. Knowing when I hit the cap would prevent me from stacking more speed buffs than necessary, possibly freeing up an ability slot / a set bonus, etc.

Well sprint is 40%, major expedition 30%, 7pc medium armour 21%.

You only need one swifty to hit the cap on any full medium armour build, stamsorcs have minor expedition, so they don't need swifty at all.

However swifty allows you to come closer to the speedcap outside of sprint. That way your scroll carrier can go really fast without burning stamina.

Thank you VERY much Zeromaz and to you too Ectheliontnacil. Those were the numbers I needed to figure things out.

Turns out I was at 101% without swift traits, so no reason to add another 18% like I did, and this confirms I'm not any faster with the new swift traits.....just as I thought.

    Thanks guys!

Yeah, there have been posts on this before. You're more or less capped at twice the "normal" speed. As to figuring out when you've hit the cap the only way I can think of is to theorycraft it out. Add all the bonuses manually and see where that lands you, basically.
