My character won't respond, amongst other problems

Ok, so this game is genuinely unplayable/useless to me at the moment - My character won't respond to me hitting any type of attack or ability, sprint, block etc, nor can I properly log out of the game. I also get 'ESO has stopped working' on my Windows laptop when trying to simply just launch the game. What the hell is going on? Why is this happening? When will it get fixed? Why have I paid good money for this?

I also get 'ESO has stopped working' when I try to launch the game from my laptop. One fix suggested to me was to go to the eso.exe file's properties and change its compatibility to Windows XP and make it always run as administrator.

Doing those didn't help me, but maybe you could try.

Thanks - I already found a really lame solution to the laptop problem - I have to do a 'repair' every time I want to play, which takes nearly 30 minutes. Besides, my laptop isn't what I use for gaming, I have a decent desktop gaming PC, and that's the one that's giving me all the bigger problems - I hope this early access thing is actually just a final final beta test and we get a game that at least works a little bit on the official launch day. Also, there are no other players in my world whatsoever, funk knows what's going off! Hope it gets fixed soon

Is this isolated to a single character or do you have multiple characters with this issue? Just curious.

I'd say maybe try to make a second just to see if it's the same sort of issue. Best way to see if it's an issue with a file in your game that didn't install/patch right, and issue with your account connecting, a toon specific issue, or just a general bug. Would be good if someone else had the same issues so we could get a better idea. Also, have you tried the /reloadui command?

Created a new Elf and there are no problems, but that's not really useful to know, because I didn't have any problems with my Khajit up until lvl 9 either. After playing with my Khajit for a bit longer, it seems that different locations in the game affect my dude differently - some areas all commands work, other areas, I notice lag when I start a fight, then we both stop fighting, I'm hitting buttons but zero is happening.

I must say that since launch I have been having a few crashes, some with error numbers and some silent. I also have been getting loot lag, button lag and mob lag but not all the time and to different degrees. Like it can take just over a second to register a loot and then sometimes mobs will stop, then teleport to me and the fight will continue. I never had anything in beta, not one crash, other than the 6 second freeze a lot was getting. I've noticed now with the freeze comes a crash which at-least before. the game recovered.

man, this is so lame - I understand it's an MMO launch and there's bound to be a few problems but the game is totally unplayable for me - my toon won't respond to any of my commands to sprint, attack, block, interact, ability etc, only move forward back etc and also I can't interact with any NPC's. I've been waiting for a reply from support for 3 days with no reply
