Q: Are the build mechanics dependent on Chapter/DLC or server patch/revisions, don't changes affect all players?

So, for example, would a theoretical Breton DK build have the same skill point ability allocation today regardless if the account was ESO Gold or Moro or Summer?

The revision affects the whole game, regardless if you bought the chapter/DLC or not. Every patch note has a "base game" section where all those changes are described in detail. Typically, the CP cap is raised by 30 every major patch, which also coincides with a DLC release. For example builds for "Dragon Bones patch will have 720 CP, while those for Summerset will have 750 CP because of that. Rarely, the way CP work, will change, their bonus may be adjusted, or some will be completely re-purposed - that's what happened in Morrowind. Also there are more subtle changes, for example if new sets are introduced, that may lead to a change in rotation, meaning you'll have to shift CP, for example from Thaumaturge to Master at Arms, because the latter rotation includes more direct damage. Also CP allocation may change slightly depending how the points are divided between stars, since there are jump points - if you get enough points to reach the next jump point in one star, and dump the rest in one that doesn't have one, typically Spell Erosion/Piercing or Spell Shield. Furthermore, resistance CP vary on what content you do, for example most trials don't have a lot of physical damage, but Sanctum Ophidia has mostly poison and physical damage so you'll have to put more in Hardy than Elemental Defender or Spell Shield. That's why it's recommended you use the guide for the latest patch, and allocate CP according to the rotation and content you actually do.

Ive looked on alcasts builds, but can someone give me a good reply on wether a non pet sorc would be better being dark elf or high elf as i dunno wether the extra fire damage is in total worth it, will there be a noticeable difference? or is high elf still the go to?

One of my alts, a Magplar, is all the sudden having some massive problems with surviving. I went from soloing dungeons, etc with ease to feeling like I am wearing tissue paper and having hp problems soloing dolmens. I have the beginner setup gearwise, and I am using the Summerset build version. Keep in mind that this is mainly a soloing alt, I am not trying to do trials, etc with it. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!

If you are using one or two fire abilities than dark elf will be slightly better. However, all my Sorcs are High Elfs and the difference is really small so I would not worry THAT much about it.

Are you using Puncturing Sweeps or Elemental Weapon?

Sweeps heals or A LOT, ele weapon does not so you might want to swap back to Sweeps.

Hey Alcast --

I find your PvP builds very accessible and flexible in terms of gear, but I was wondering if you could provide alternative gear to some of your PvE builds...most of them require trials gear which a lot of players don't have and find difficult to farm for due to not being able to find a good group.

Hey griff, I plan on doing that soonish, I already do have alternate gear for most setups but I want to build it like this:
T1= Best possible setups
T2= Non Trial gear setup
T3= Beginner Setup

So in the future you can expect it to be listed like that. I am gone the whole july due to army service but I hope I can update all builds for the next DLC and then set the gear up like I just explained with those different tier lists

Hi.

Guildies directed me to your site. Most of my toons use your builds as is, though I did merge two similar builds into one for my MagSorc. Anyway, that's mostly irrelevant.

My family, and the rl friends I play with, really likes werewolves. We don't PVP. Would it be at all possible to get WW PVE builds for each class? How about some classes? One class? The only one you have is PVP, and though it could probably be turned into a viable PVE build with some tweaking, it also happens to be the only class I don't know a WW. Nightblades, for us, tend to be vamps. We have 2 DK, 1 Templar and 1 Warden WWs.

I know you're out for July. When you get back, especially with the new dlc on werewolves, is it possible for some WW love?
Your builds have been awesome so far, and I know you're crazy busy, so WWs may not get anything. In that case, do you recommend a site with WW builds?

I think next patch Werewolf will be slightly more viable for PvE too. I've seen a 50K DPS parses posted by other players

Ye I will work on Werewolf builds once I have time and will definitely make it priority to get them ready for Wolfhunter DLC release.

I also did a very short test on the PTS already just to show how good WW could potentially be. And also talked about the changes on the PTS.

Just stopped by to say TY, Alcast. #1 you got me through normal MA on a level 12 sorc, LOL. Your video was the bomb! #2 you got my Arya (GOT char) playing great as a NB. That was my worst char because I never liked playing a NB, and now I love her!!! Ba-dow

i am new to this game and have a lvl 50 CP196 Stam sorcerer, can i reroll him to a Werewolf or is it best to start a new toon?

Could anyone explain what's the point of adding magic dmg enchant to a staff in the non-pet sorc build 2? I don't get it. I have pulse, frags, and wrath on bar1, so I don't understand that enchant at all - and especially since build 1 has different one.

Non pet sorcs have quite a tough time sustain. So that enchantmant is there to showcase that you can use it to get better sustain, as that absorb magic enchantment deals damage AND returns magicka. If you want, you can use flame/shock like in setup 1.

You can slot the execute if you want. However, the sorc execute is the weakest execute in the game and therefore it does not really increase dps at all in most situations. It has a cheaper cost than force pulse so if you would like to have better sustain in execute then make sure to slot it.

Oh. I see.
Extra 10k+ dmg on each cast doesn't seem like nothing to me though. But maybe I am reading the skill's cryptic tooltip wrong. It really should be reworded somehow.

Yes it deals slightly more damage that is correct. However do not forget that you are sacrificing a Mage Light or Bound Aegis slot which will result in 7/8% less overall magicka throughout the whole fight.

Give it a try, if you like it more than use it

Always adjust builds to your needs.

Btw, for the warden, would it be possible to add alternative skill setup+rotation for those who aren't terribly excited about the Psijic line? I feel like that's a dramatic change, and personally, I like the class skills a lot more.

I wonder... Stamina DK build for Wolfhunter does mention that build moves to infused bow with poison enchantment due to how enchantments work now after bar-swap - but later in the build, there's mentioning of alchemical poison remaining from build from Summerset. Does it still make sense to slot alchemical poisons on back bar, more so after moving from nirnhoned to infused? For me, disease glyph on infused backbar is giving consistent ~2.5k DPS or so, I think that's more than I was getting from double dot poison (and less random to proc, since glyph ticks every 2 seconds on any bar while Hail is up).
