Zenimax, why do you keep shafting Stamina players in PvE?

    Oh no, I read your thread, its whiny and pointless.
    Do you really think that posting on the forum is going to change how ranged / melee work? (And yes this is about ranged / melee and NOT about Stamina / Magika as you are making it out to be).

    But anyhow, you seem really very upset over this.
    I'd suggest taking a break from the game, or you know - making a ranged character....

    That’s where you cross the threshold of casual runs turning into leaderboard runs/harder content. Being in the end game community, you need to understand that the class you love to play will be benched from patch to patch. That’s why a lot of us run multiple classes for that reason.

    I use to consider my stamina dk my main, until vAS and now vCR. They just don’t work. So I rolled a magic class of all my stam classes to stay up to date and consistent. It is extremely tough work to stay on your game in harder content, which is why when some achievements/skins are sniped, the end game community gets so upset.

    Anyways back on topic, this is the life of devs wanting to “balance” things so much and endlessly. Because I love the game though, we just have to put in extra work to stay current.

    Yes, you can do that. There is nothing incorrect in what you are saying, however the pertinent question is, why is this the case.

    I mean one obvious cause is the way in which ZOS makes changes to game balance, with massive amounts of major changes going in all at once every 6 or 12 months. This is not how you balance a game. Sure, 100% balance is impossible but having such serious gulfs between trial performance on magicka vs stamina is just unacceptable and is a sign of things being done wrong at many levels, this being the most obvious one.

    Then there is the design of the trials themselves...
    Just look at all the other trials prior to this latest generation of mini "trials", at almost every boss there was a reason to have a good split between magicka and stamina, everyone can have a job no matter which you are built around.
    Yeah there are a few exceptions, melee is pretty bad on the stone atro in AA, as an obvious example off the top of my head, but within every trial it was good to have a pretty even mixture of both ranged and melee. vMoL did an absolutely brilliant job at this and imo is by far the best trial ZOS has ever produced, nothing since then has come close to it.

    After vAS being dominated by magicka builds, I assumed that this was just a mistake or an oversight and would have expected ZOS to take some notice of this and try to make content more balanced for all classes in future, however it seems they either didn't notice or they just don't care.


    To go from getting trials like vMoL where the mechanics were amazing, the trial was well paced, the content was balanced for both magicka and stamina, which obviously takes some consideration and effort from the developers to achieve, to these trials where they are rushed out with half of the content that a trial should have missing, and where seemingly nobody has bothered to look at the trial and consider, "Is this going to have something for everyone", is really quite sad.

    I agree completely with what you’re saying. There definitely is a huge balancing swing in this game that never settles, and it’s unlike any other mmo’s on the market. They really do not let things settle enough before changing things. People will not want to keep grinding and holding out gear and different sets trying to stay in tune to the metas. They’ll realize that once they start losing their player base, at least in the end game content portion.

    I also agree that their content creators are lazy when it comes to releasing new trials. I do enjoy cloudrest at the moment, I think the mechanics are fun, keeping you on your toes. But at the same time, with it being so short, it won’t hold peoples interest very long. It’s the same way vAS leaderboards were so stale, the shortcut trials are a very bad move.

    Wel have to see how far forward ZOS plans on taking all these crazy balancing swings and lame “mini trials”. Hopefully it won’t be too late to come back from. I will say it’s lookin pretty gloomy on console at the moment.
