I may have missed the category, but if it's that big of a deal just move my thread :)

I found this unfinished lore scroll while on a quest in Rivenspire (I forget the name of the quest, but you're assisting a vampire with his memories).

    It looks fine to me. I'm not familiar with this quest, but the scroll looks like fragments of a text in Ayleidoon translated to Tamrielic by an in-universe scribe who had trouble with the meaning of some words.

    I'm no lore nerd, but I don't think the greater than/less than symbols would be used on a scroll in the lore. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    This looks like whoever was writing the lore on this scroll was putting down ideas and never chose a final draft.

    a guy who wrote this (by a guy i mean IN GAME character) was putting down some ideas and never chose a final draft. a guy who made this quest (by a guy i mean GAME DEVELOPER now) wrote it like this so when you read it you would think that this IN GAME character wasn't very good at translating.

    So does part of the lore of the quest have to do with translating? I may have missed that part.

    I don't recall any book with greater/less symbols offhand, but The Song of Pelinal is similar: "[Text lost] ... [And] Umaril was laid low, the angel face of his helm dented into an ugliness which made Pelinal laugh, [and his] unfeathered wings broken off with sword strokes delivered while Pelinal stood [frothing]..."

    I believe it was meant to look this way. Notice <unknown Ayleid word>, clearly from an in-universe author with lacking vocabulary. The same words appear more than one time, for example <crag, peak?> It's a rough translation, not a dev mistake.

    It's supposed to be a sketchy translation so the quest isn't spoiled. It's like this throughout the game.
