Here are a few predictions.
Zenimax will get blamed because TES VI will have a crown store and there will be loot boxes
The faithful (aka nutters) will scream because it won't have Skyrims feel just like Skyrim didn't have Oblivion's feel.
The same "faithful" will scream that it isn't a true TES game because it will have a multi-player component.
All in all you will just just as much whinging on these threads as you already do ....perhaps more which is pretty sad.
It was always stupid, considering ESO and Skyrim were in development at the same time. So are Legends and Blades. Bethesda has no problem working on and releasing different games with the same IP at the same time.
My guess is that TES VI will be released soon, in November or December, and FO 5 at the same time; it's entirely possible if one of them won't be done in house - New Vegas was done by another studio and it didn't turn out that bad so they may do it again.

It's a smart financial decision to delay its launch when ESO has done so well. If it had come out, say, a year after ESO launched I'm guessing ESO wouldn't have done as well. Just IMO

On the contrary: TES6 can support ESO and reversed. They can arouse interest to play ESO or TES6.
Agreed. Zenimax as the parent company of Bethesda Softworks LLC and ZOS wouldn’t allow one of their game products cannibalizes each other. It would ruin the sustainability and the Company image as a whole. I believe ESO and TES6 will support each other vice versa. What makes me curious is Todd Howard mind in the Company long term strategy for the Elder Scrolls franchise... ES name is legendary same like the Fallout franchise. Let us look at the wider perspective

This is the very reason why i believe tes 6 will be in akavir , leaving all of tamriel to zos to play with.
This can lead to an healty life for the mmo, and a fresh new beginning for the single player game

This is actually what I think and expect as well - that TES6 is not located in Tamriel, but on one of the other continents of Nirn.
So, the fact that we won't see an actual original TES game on the current generation of consoles means nothing? The only new Elder Scrolls game on the current gen IS ESO. That was the next Elder Scrolls game. The only TES games we have had this gen will be Legends, ESO, and Blades (am I missing any?). They said Starfield was next gen, and that after that is TES VI. So, we are probably looking at 2021-2022 for TES VI, over a decade from the last entry. If anything is taking time away, it's Fallout and non TES games, but, Arena (1994), Daggerfall (1996), couple of other games between, then Morrowind (2002), Skyrim (2011). They got ahold of other games, and started work on various projects, no longer coming out so fast.
I was 17 with Arena, 19 with Daggerfall, and 25 with Morrowind, then 34 for Skyrim. But, it will be 12-14 years between Skyrim and TES VI. Kids in their mid-teens that played Skyrim will be in their late twenties when playing the NEXT one. And you seriously think ESO and Fallout stuff did not cause that? Not exactly a series that people grow up playing anymore, it's more a game that people remember, and now they have a sequel coming some years down the road. In a world where we get a 'new' (and I use the term loosely) CoD and Battlefield game every year, going 12+ years between iterations is kind of a push, and clearly shows they have a lot on their plate. So, yeah, I think it's a bit ridiculous to say that all of that other stuff didn't play into it.
Oh, and notice, the next Fallout is basically an MMO with tiny limits on players per server? They have discovered that if they make an MMO, add micro-transactions, they make a ton of money, and can keep updating that game, gives them longer to work on the single player games. ESO was designed to be an Elder Scrolls game to hold people over for a long time until they got another TES game out. By making their two big franchises into MMOs as well, they can pump out tons of other stuff (like Legends, Blades, etc) and, I would fully expect in the years after 76, we see a card game, a mobile adventure game, etc for Fallout. Kind of surprised we don't have something like Shelter for TES, yet....

A thirty six second trailer appeased them, I love it.
It looked like High Rock if I had to guess.
No one said TES VI isn't an MMO.

They stated pre production so 2-3 years, probably not 2019, but 20 or 21, not later that would be just stupid.Ghanima_Atreides wrote: »My guess is that TES VI will be released soon, in November or December, and FO 5 at the same time; it's entirely possible if one of them won't be done in house - New Vegas was done by another studio and it didn't turn out that bad so they may do it again.
It most likely won't be; Todd Howard said that their priority right now is another "next-generation" game for consoles that haven't even been released yet, Starfield, and TES VI will be the game after that; so we're looking at 2-3 years at least.
I agree though that the terrain looks High Rock/Wrothgar-ish and let's not forget the last standing Tower is the Adamantine Tower on the Island of Balfiera...
I personally can't wait to read the in game chats of people who have paid for ESO and yet will tell us repeatedly that this game will die when TeS VI hits, gunna be awesome reading the same high level wit!

Bethesda's fanbase seems to be made up of two types: those who love ESO more than Fallout and those who love Fallout more than ESO, with a few in between who enjoys both games.
There is no mistaking which has the larger audience, and if ESO was impacted by losing nearly 1/3 of its player base when Fallout 4 was released, it's going to hit much harder when TES VI is released.
ESO will lose at least 50% of its player base when it's released, and the game will definitely feel the impact. It may not shut down, but there's no mistaking revenue for the game will tank faster than a Dragonknight.
Hard to say how this will impact ESO, but unless they find a way to tie the two franchises together, I see ESO being destroyed by TES VI.
Skyrim is still played by more Bethesda fans than all other Bethesda games combined.
Once players are "done" with Elsweyr, they'll come back, provided ESO hasn't lost too much revenue during the release.

And yes it looks high rock to me.
