To Vampire or Not to Vampire

What's the consensus post-SS? Obviously if you rely on Mist Form then it's a no brainer. Aside from that, are the cons outweighing the pros for vampire in PvP?

Avoid it if you can. If you are not going to use Mist Form, don't bother. The extra regen isn't worth the extra fire damage and weakness to Dawnbreaker which pretty every stamina setup uses it.

Yea, at the moment Vampire is pretty much just for Mist Form and/or Roleplaying. Otherwise the cons very much outweigh the pros.

Edit: Mist Form is also weaker than usual at the moment, due to all the oblivion damage being thrown around in BGs. Couple Sload's procs and/or Infused Torug's Oblivion proc spam can wreck you right through the "mitigation" of Mist Form.

I still find vamp extremely worthwhile on Magsorc.

You get dropped into execute range very fast, but can also survive in execute range for a long time due to healing ward—so you really milk the Undeath passive when it's at its most effective.

And because the damage reduction applies to your wards, it helps them last a split second longer during which you can swing to offense and possibly turn the fight around.

As opposed to being stuck on your defensive bar, refreshing wards and burning magicka indefinitely.

I keep it at stage 3 to get all the important benefits while taking 5% less fire damage than at stage 4.

On a Stamblade it's a must for me due to the sneak speed. Rather not wear Night's Silence just so I can sneak around at a decent pace.

If you use any form of casted shields, I think vampire is very much worth it.

Vampire is still beastly. The is undeath passive helps negate execute under the 50% threshold. If you drop to 25% you're toast either way.

Ditched it personally since I don't use the abilities. Honestly a minimal difference, undeath is good for shield builds stuck in exe range but the extra damage can be a ***.

Recovery is kinda small tbh. It's based off your base, so around 40/70 depending.

Fire does suck as Vamp.... I go back and forth with it tbh.

I love vamp open world and pve because of the movement speed, regen what not. But if that toon os a dueler or going into bgs the vamp can really hurt. Magdks just destroy you, and everyone in bgs os dropping dbos. Hell even magsorc are using it now, kinda tells you something when every stam spec and even some mag are using dbos

Problem is, you need to be below 25% to get anything worthwhile, due to how Undeath scales linearly with your missing health. At 50% health you are litterally not getting any effect from undeath. At 25% you get half (15% mitigation)

Recovery is not based on base. The 10% apply just like any other percentage. So depending on you setup, these can net you alot of regen. On my Magplar i get about 170 regen from being Vamp stage 2.
