For those of you who have leveled jewelry crafting to 50
My crafter was at 50 after about two days and my main is catching up.
I mostly levelled with Alik'r dolmens - several hours worth. Not fun at all, but I got a good pile of green jewels to get to level 22 and a decent amount of blue and purple rings to decon after that. That's the level where the decon of blue and purple becomes a good idea in terms of upgrade mat extraction.
I did writs each day. I actually sold the intricates and deconned any ornate. There were a number of random drops thrown in, I guess.
I did get a number of gold jewels from trials and the vMA leaderboard mail - but I didn't decon them until I was level 50 with all passives unlocked.
Andymac - Magicka DK - EP Grand Overlord - Flawless Conqueror
I got to fifty just last night. I did dolmens, chests from treasure maps, bought some jewelry with AP. Ultimately it was my friends who helped me. Every day they’d send me whatever jewelry they picked up all colors but gold lol.
I leveled to 50 with a variety of methods.
Dolmens I ran the auridon circut for 2 hrs a day for maybe 3 days
I purchased maybe 80 pieces from the mages guild.
I purchased 20 bags from the battlegrounds gear vendor
The rest was from writs and random finds from chests, urns and quests.
The 2 Ashlander dailies in Vvardenfell. Almost 2 accessories guaranteed, ring or necklace.
Couple that with doing those dailies on a few toons, and I end up with a decent amount of accessories to deconstruct.
I'm not there yet but I'm ~40. Sticking to Summerset activities (geysers, dailies, and world bosses) so I can farm the motifs at the same time.
Yep. Sticking to normal activities (dolmens/geysers, treasure chest hunting, stealing, etc), will easily get a player to 50 JC without them needing to spend a boatload of gold at traders. Between these activities (though not so many geysers, for me) and the daily writs, I have my main at 50 JC, one alt at 33, and the other 6 crafting alts are around 11 JC.
You don't even need to farm jewelry nodes for mats to do so, though I recommend that players still pick them up when they see them. A "stock" of 15 Pewter is enough to do crafting writs on all 6 of those alts without worrying about it not being enough (unless I get a survey, the Pewter writs return all but 1 ingot). I forget how much copper it takes for the 33JC alts writ (gotta get her a skill point to spend to go to silver xD). Its still only 5 or 6 Platinum ingots for the maxed out JC'ers writs.
1/ Loot every container throughout Summerset - Decon all jewellery you find, especially intricate.
2/ Run routes following the edges of the Summerset mountains looking for treasure chests, they seem to contain a higher proportion of jewellery (or did for me) and with the CP perk giving higher quality they will give jewellery upgrade dusts on decon.
3/ Grind abyssal geysers again higher jewellery drops than dolmens.
4/ Check traders for under priced intricate jewellery, watch for old pre Summerset jewellery as this cannot be deconed.
5/ Don't bother crafting as the mats are to expensive or rare, unless you have extra mats and can share with a friend, it works like enchanting, deconing your own jewellery gives no IP, so swap.
6/ Research the traits in the order you may use, health, arcane and robust are very common so research last, ask in your guild who can craft and if they do mates rates.
