Gold Food Causes Smaller Resource Bar

I’ve noticed this with both Clockwork Citrus Fillet vs Witchmothers Brew and Artaeum Broth vs Camoran Throne. Basically the gold food shrinks my resource (mag or stam) bar to be small than my health bar (though it should be larger) but the numbers in it still indicate that I have the appropriate amount of resource, while the purple drinks expand your resource bar to the proper amount. Is this intended? Also, this is sort of speculation, but I swear that my sustain feels worse with the gold foods than the drinks. Almost as if the size of the bar is indicating my max resources and not the number. Thoughts, similar experiences? I’m not using any UI addons that affect resource bars.

Gonna give this a bump. Genuinely curious if anyone has experience with this issue and knows more. Is it just a UI error or soemthing more.

The higher the quality the more "buffs" it gives but it gives lower amounts of each buff. Blue food gives two buffs and purple 3, but the buffs received from purple are less per resource than that of the blue. Which is why i use blue for solo and purple with recovery for group. Gold would give even less per buff than purple so the numbers and bars should shrink.

It happens to me on ps4 with citrus filet, I haven't tried the stam version yet. Its not a huge deal but it would be nice to get a fix. I don't use it because the smaller bar messes with me

Not true, citrus fillet gives 3458 max mag and witch Mother’s gives 3192 max mag.

Try to use a skill on a dummy with both foods active to see the actual damage you are putting out. That is the best way to see if the problem you feel is there, is there. I have a feeling it is just a UI bug.

I will do so later today, and post a screenshot. At best it’s just a UI bug at worst gold food is bugged. But I know there were some issues with the Artaeum broth already. Some people even had it increasing Max Magicka instead of stam.

gold foods seems very buggy, the new one drink from arteum fishing bags for example aint give any buffs to sets require a drink. "i tested it with sets require food" and it doesnt work there either and the passives extending its time aint working either. Im running Purple food until this issues are resolved.

Yeah that’s a whole other issue with no word at all from zos. You’d think they’d be on it seeing as it’s part of the new content.

It's a well documented bug that I and many others reported since CWC but unfortunately never ackowledged or fixed. I don't use it, because visually, it's a mess.

It's just a visual bug and is around for some time. I really would like a fix.

Yeah, I've seen this bug before. I thought it had something to do with temporary stat modifiers that increase the bar size expiring during an area transition, at which point you'd get a tiny resource bar. But, I'm not 100% sure.

So, can confirm that it seems to be only UI related, at least in terms of damage. Is it properly modifying everything? I have no idea because I don't know that much about the game. I can confirm that my light attacks dealt the same amount of damage despite the resource bar being smaller. Still, its annoying in combat to have your main resource bar be super small and it would be good to get this fixed. First is with Witchmothers second is with Citrus Fillet. As @starkerealm mentioned it seems to be linked to transitioning areas. When first take the resource bar is the correct size, but upon exiting my house it shrinks. LA damage remains the same despite the shrinking mag bar. @ZOS_GinaBruno maybe put this on the list of things to look at?

You can see in this images with the Clockwork Fillet enabled that the Mag bar should be bigger than the Health bar.

A lot of people have reported issues with food where resources aren't being calculated correctly... Here's a thread I started days ago, and there have been a few others pop-up. I hope it gets fixed soon...

Yep, it’s a UI big. I can’t remember if it happened in the Clockwork City patch but it was extremely common in Dragon Bones. If you traveled your Magicka bar would go back to “normal” size when using Clockwork Citrus Fruit.

You still get *all* of the stats. It’s strictly a UI bug.

Can confirm it, but the magicka and stamina bars are shown correct after taking the food. They shrink when you travel first time after taking it.

I get the impression that this doesn't need confirming anymore. They probably figured it out in the past one and a half years. :p

And didn't bother to fix it... gave me quite a scare in my first trial ever, and I'm glad I found the "explanation" in the forums.

    Greetings,

As it was originally created in 2018 and the information may no longer be relevant, we have closed this topic. In many instances, it's better to create a new thread on a topic that you want to discuss as opposed to bumping one that is rather old.
