Mouse Pointer Issues

It is definitely an issue with external displays. There is a workaround -- switch desktops back and forth to reset your cursor -- but it is so COMPLETELY annoying. For example, if you want to swap abilities, when you bring up the abilities window you get a bad cursor, and when you place the first ability the cursor goes away. So you have to switch desktops back and forth to move the next ability, and so on.

It is frustrating that nobody has even acknowledged this issue.

Agreed. I keep having to flip from full screen to windowed mode whenever my mouse acts up. And even then that isn't a great fix, because half the time my mouse freezes completely, and I have to do the same steps several times before it kicks in again. Drives me nuts. Please ZOS fix this issue!!!

With there being no Mac version of the PTS client last I checked, can I put in a word for ZOS to PLEASE fix this in this coming update? I didn't see any mention of this bug being fixed when I read the patch notes on PTS.

Oh, forgot to write this here but I made a small script in addon form to work around. I really can't play without it. Just sets a hot key to make your cursor stop spazzing out. Not the best fix, but def the easiest.

Anyone else getting a weird pointer that looks like it belongs on a Commdore64 in the 80's. As cool as it looks I can't actually see the pointer when trying to click on potions or gear and have to move it around until I see something get highlighted. It also can't drag and drop without leaving an imprint of the gear on the screen permanently. Alt - F out of the screen will return it to normal until I need to use it again.

Any tips? I can't screen shot it because I have to use the mouse and it makes it disappear.

    Have you tried:
    System Preferences > Accessibility > Mouse & Trackpad > Uncheck Spring-Loading delay

I tried that, to no avail. What I have found is:
    • The pointer problem happens when you move the pointer such that it would go outside the boundaries of the screen
    • It only happens when using an external display and my laptop in clamshell mode
    • It doesn't seem to happen if I leave the laptop open...but then I run the risk of losing the pointer onto the second screen and not having it where I need it
    • Switching back and forth between desktops really quick (CTRL-1 CTRL-2 in my case) temporarily fixes it

And it only started happening when I upgraded the OS to High Sierra. It would be nice to see this get some attention, but after more than 6 months of reports it seems like ZOS isn't interested.

If you do a search on High Sierra upgrade and mouse issues with other games its a very similar issue:

    https://us.battle.net/forums/en/sc2/topic/20759247246

    https://eu.battle.net/forums/en/heroes/topic/17617062722

Just a few examples. Not sure where Apple is with this.

    Cheers,

My wife had the same issue with High Sierra - the fix I found on a forum for a different game. Go to accessibility settings and increase the cursor size.

Making the pointer slightly bigger in Preferences/Accessibility definitely solved this annoying issue I had for months!
