While my shield might be pointless against them I’m wondering if spamming Honor the Dead is the most simple solution for me as a Magplar?

It’s a simple solution, yes. The question is how long you can actually sustain spamming HotD.
...
However, Sloads is an “Xv1” set, meaning it specializes in killing solo players based on its very functionality, while being meh in 1vX. ...
Here is a question,
Multiple players can have the Sloads DoT active on a single target
but is it even possible for a single player to have the Sloads DoT on multiple targets?
Basically a question of is this explicitly a Xv1 set; or is the functionality at least programed with group vs group play in mind
There is a single DoT. Once it is applied, there is cooldown. Therefore it is extremely powerful vs a single target, but useless for that single target vs a group of enemies. Also with the way this specific set works it reallyyyyu hurts solo players when the procs stack. Major Defile makes Oblivion Damage far more dangerous since you struggle to outheal it. A group player will get plenty of heals anyway.
If it could apply to multiple targets at the same time, it would make more sense as being designed for a group vs group scenario
if the mechanics of the DoT are explicitly that multiple can stack on a single target, but a single playhe cannot impact multiple targets
then it sounds like it may well have been designed with the intention of wiping out 1vX/at least making it more difficult with no purge
from the way you describe it tho
it is relatively well-balanced/not particularly overpowered for everything else
only particularly powerful in an Xv1 scenario
But another thing is that even in a 1v1 it is very strong.
Also I’d hate to see this become so strong literally everyone uses it and we all glow purple in PvP 24/7. I love how ZOS blames lag on armor procs but now wants us o stack as many as possible
This set truly should not exist imo. It’s horrible for the health of the game and truly impossible to balance.

This is ridiculous. If 6 ppl wearing Sloads attack me at once, there’s literally nothing I can do about it because of the Sloads proc.
It killded me.
I think it is amazing how ESO players realisticly think that they can go up against x6 and get away alive.
Yes, you could do it before; Not anymore... They dont want demi-gods running around in cyro facetanking 10 people each..
So sets like sload is nice; time too say NO to demi-gods destroying our newer players!
“demi-gods” aka good players
Good players who had fair fights when against players of the same skill level. And when those good players went up against even 2 other good players they get destroyed. That sounds great to me.
What doesn’t sound normal is if I am a new player and join the game a week ago and then hop into Cyrodiil barely knowing what a dodge roll is. However I am able to stack health/survivability sets and Sloads to create a build that actually hurts those good players and applies pressure, all while having enough survivability to avoid getting bursted and can heal up plenty. That’s sounds really bad to me.
If I was a new player who understood very little about the game, or simply a player who is extremely unskilled, and could legitimately hurt the very best players because of a sets that do the work for me while I remain a tank..... well that tells me there are fundamental issues here in the gameplay itself.
That’s my opinion on it at leastAnd back in those times when skilled play was rewarded and you could viably play solo in Cyrodiil, there were significantly more players.

It will come I am sure.
Don’t you run in a group? I understand you’re a PS4 NA player as well and only recall ever seeing you in a group. I don’t mean this is any negative way either.
However, Sloads is an “Xv1” set, meaning it specializes in killing solo players based on its very functionality, while being meh in 1vX. So if you haven’t seen it on your death recap it would make sense based on what I know about you that you’re always in a group.
Nobody should be able 1v6, no matter what skill he has.
Sload or not, but it sounds like a healthy situation.
He absolutely should if the 6 are light attacking potatoes. The set is in the game to make Xv1 even easier and to give all the light attacking potatoes out there a chance to feel “powerful”.
That said, it’s just one of many unbalanced setups. Fun times indeed.

How many light attacking potatoes have you met? Honestly not 1. Nobody just lights attack. Everybody knows how to use skills. If you are lvl 50 then you know how to use a skill, so don't come with ridiculous arguments.
I'm not saying Sloads is balanced, but 1v6 and winning isn't balanced as well.
Just another “Demi-god” here giving my 2 cents.
Previously in this game you could 1v6, even upwards of that, however as years progress and new ways of tanks being able to kill people are killing any scrap of solo play left in the game.
With Sloads, going into cyrodiil alone is a death trap, whereas before at certain times you could find pvp. It is an xv1 set in the purest sense and takes away any form of skilled gameplay away from pvp. So if you think there’s nothing wrong...we know how skilled you are.
