Thought it was fixed in last update but problem came back. Trying to research trait on dagger in blacksmithing. Have 2/3 slots researching. When I attempt to research any trait on any item in blacksmithing not currently being research on that item it says trait already being researched or no available slots.

On which platform and megaserver do you play TESO? (Please read the Guidelines For Bug Report Forum.) ZOS cannot investigate and remedy a bug without that information.

#1: A character cannot research two or more different traits for the same item at the same time. When research is finished for the current trait, choose a remaining unknown trait for that item, or for another item instead, to resume research.

#2: "No available slots" means that, given rule #1 above, there is no opportunity for a character to research any item to learn its trait (regardless of whether there is at least one trait has not been learned yet). Of course, this also occurs when all of the traits have been learned for all other items in the same Skill Line which are not currently being researched (for example, Blacksmithing weapons, or Blacksmithing armor.)

So, what you describe is not a bug, unless the software asserts "No available slots", but all the traits have not been researched for all of the items in any Skill line -- again, excluding each item for which there is at least one unresearched trait, but another trait is currently being learned for it.

PC on NA server. Example is right now I'm at 2/3 in clothing. Currently researching Divines in Bracers & Infused in Guards. When I try to also research Infused in Jack it asks me to confirm researching because it'll destroy the item like normal & I confirm it. After that it still just says 2/3 available & the Infused Jack is still there no matter how many times I confirm to research it. This has been happening in blacksmithing, woodworking, & clothing since Summerset hit. All my skills are maxed except for jewelry & all skill points are or into crafting as well. It doesn't matter what location or crafting station I use either.

This issue has been reported several times recently, for all crafts where you can research traits (including Jewelry). It's an old bug that resurfaced in the Summerset release. One of the threads with more info is here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/366460/bug-unable-to-research-more-blacksmithing-items.

Note: it appears to be a cosmetic UI issue when viewing the trait research status in the crafting station interface. The UI is incorrectly showing one of your research slots as available (and the trait being researched as unknown) when in fact the trait research is still in progress. The only workaround is to come back again later and check again - hoping that the research actually HAS completed this time.

This is happening to one of my characters as well. i believe it is a UI issue. The 3rd slot is actually actively researching even though the UI says it is not. Randomly it will "catch up" and show the item with the correct times. It is very frustrating!
