Is Psijic order quest line supposed to be fun?

Or is it just a grind for the sake of grinding. I mean look at all the other guilds questlines, they all have a story, different objectives and don't require you to go to every single zone.

Its like hey skyshard farming was super fun, lets make another more annoying one.

I got my character to level 5 to get accelerate or 4 for imbue weapons for my stam characters, but that probably as far as I'm going and nothing after that is worth it, not to mention there is barely any story.

its 9 fetch quests with a really pathetic boss at the end for the 10th quest

I enjoyed it. It was mostly the agur and the snippets of tower lore though. The actual grind was meh at best. The final boss was interesting but lacked any difficulty and dies before it can even do anything.

Watch Netflix and just get it over and done with, it's nothing like as boring as getting razor caltrops :hushed:

It´s grinding because of grinding. It´s a goal itself, this grinding.

It’s pretty chill. There is a storyline to it. I honestly felt like getting to level 10 with the Psijic Order was easier than level 10 for the Mage’s Guild. I don’t use lorebook addons though.

Would be slightly less tedious if activating the augur wouldn't dismount you... A bit more variety wouldn't have hurt in this questline.

I just finished this questline and it was the most predictable, biggest time waster I've done in this game. Other than a few of the Auger's lines being funny the rest was a total let down. Challenge? You wont find it here. That was just about enough to drive me to looking for a new game.

Your late to the party is seems. But you do get the honor of the 100th thread on the subject.

Yes, the actions are grindy, but it seems the point of the quest line is the narration from the skull. Great commentary he provides. Hilarious.

It’s boring as hell but imo it’s one of the least arduous guild grinds. Undaunted is probaly the worst imo, followed my mages guild and then fighters guild. Psijic is probably the quickest of all, as long as your toon has access to most of the wayshrines and your mount speed is decent. You also have the choice of doing it as quickly as you like.

It's rather frustrating, that the best they could come up with is a time-sink.

It is not that bad if you explore as you go. If all u do is focus on unlocking the skills then ofcourse it feels like a grind. If you examine the places it takes you on a new toon you would be doing all sorts of missions at each spot, its just everyone is using the guys they already did most stuff on, or they are pure grinders
    Ummm stuff… about stuff…or something.

I think its just a way to get you to got skyshard hunting so you have skill points to invest in the skill line. That is what it seems like.

I think people expect too much from the guild. ZOS actually didn't announce a new guild + questline for Summerset, but simply a new skill line. And a new skill line has to be leveled somehow, so we got some quests that serve this purpose. They are not that intriguing or deep as the other guild quests, because that's not their point.

Khajiit is only about halfway through completing the tasks so far yes.

These missions were somewhat frustrating yes mainly because this one simply cannot read maps. Going to Craglorn instead of Stormhaven, Reapers March instead of Malabal Tor.

Thus these quests took quite a long time ...

It would be helpful also if there were a text tip in the quest log once the chatty skull man thing has said something because this one she does not always catch what he says yes.

The good side was whist getting endlessly lost this one did manage to pick many flowers along the way.

Yes, and I'm not saying that they couldn't have made the quests much more interesting. It would have been great, if they did. I'm just saying the guild itself was not the focus here. The focus was the skill line.

It was definately not the best decision to choose a skill line related to a guild, if they don't want to also focus on the guild itself. But that's what we got.

The experience on Arteum was unsatisfactory. The quests specific to level your Psijic Skill line is probably the most pathetic idea they could have come up with, which is weird 'cause the rest of the quests on Summerset are amazing IMO.

Just wonder why they didn't put any effort into the Psijic Order Skills questline. Expected a bit more after doing some entertaining side quests in Summerset.

Maybe open an additional tab for npc chatter?

I enjoyed it. Maybe not what I would have told you after the second or third breach because I already was tired of porting around...but then i found out I really liked doing this, taking it slow, running around and grabbing every node, visit places again I haven't seen in months, and listening to the augur. More fun for me than going for skyshards or lorebooks, or killing x folks in countless places...

    Finally someone understands.

People are whining about the how we level it up but there are far worse skill line progression systems in the game...

I enjoyed the first run through. The whole "rifts have opened up all over the place and you gotta close them" was a bit gimmicky, but I found so many jewellery seams and scored an infused neck and ring out of psijic portals, not to mention all the decon jewellery I pulled out of overland chests while running around, so overall it was a good way to go farming without actually farming (which I hate). I also happen to really enjoy quests that make me go to various zones -- everywhere in this game is so pretty.

The rift closing was a bit reminiscent of the quests for the College in Skyrim where you had to destroy magical anomalies; it was never really explained clearly why the Psijics needed boots on the ground to close the rifts -- I mean, they can open a portal to anywhere so why not open a portal directly to the rift, go close it, and go right back through the portal. The whole "we try not to interfere with Tamriel" argument holds no water because the player character is a member of the Psijic Order the minute we complete the first "initiation" of rift-closing, so shouldn't the sages immediately start discouraging us from running around Tamriel like it's going out of fashion? :expressionless:

The story was very predictable and I could see the ending coming the minute Josajeh suggested using the staff. I could have done with meeting more of the people around Artaeum -- love the pig farmer lady and the storm atro making it rain to water the wheat crops, what a good boy.
AD is the best looking faction. I don't make the rules, I just enforce them.

It was terrible gameplay for a story of that magnitude. It was basically the equivalent of 60 crafting surveys, except easier. Here's my review and the discussion that followed:

I actually really enjoyed it. Just as a questline, my main criticism is the lack of variety, and that it's perhaps 25-50% longer than it needs to be.
The dialogue, the characters, the jokes, the mild puzzle elements... they're all quite good.

But of course, even the most hilarious of jokes coming from the Augur's mouth will feel grating if you listen to it six times. It's a shame, to be honest, to have a good (not great, but definitely not bad) quest be ruined just for the fact you have to repeat it over, and over again.

its not really enjoyable, but it doesnt take that long either. Once there are mods for Psijic Grinding so they mark the exact spots on the map its gonna be possible to do sub 1 hour 30 minutes from 0 to max rank (assuming you got some wayshrines). For the abilites and passives you get i guess thats justified.

I am hating it and I am not through yet. This is the most boring piece of excuse for a quest line I have found so far in ESO.

A questline for a new addon/chapter/dlc/whatever which sends you mostly in areas outside of said new chapter is kinda strange. It's not challenging, it feels like work.

I guess it is meant for new players who start in Summerset to give them a reason to venture forth to Tamriel.

you come to that awesome island, Artaeum, beautiful.
you enter that absolut great tower and then find out it:
The tower is outside huge, inside small, there are psijics around doing nothing
but well you came here mainly for the psijic skills

    and then...
you get a quest to go around and pick some plasters around somewhere in the world
nothing magic, nothing awesome, just nothing

if it wasn´t time enough to develope an adequat awesome questline, why don´t introduce it somewhat later with an DLC or the like
this is just a pain all the way
