Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

I'm getting an error, how do I resolve this?

About 3 weeks ago I started to occasionally get an error when attempting to launch ESO Here is the error message:
"Your DirectX version is unsupported. Get Help:
https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3215"
The help simply tells me to upgrade Direct X to the latest version. and I am at the latest version already. Simply rebooting temporarily resolves the issue. How do I fit it for good? The version of DirectX I'm running is 12. DXDIAG finds no issues.

IMHO, that error message does not satisfy professional standards for user-friendly software.

If I recall correctly, DirectX 12 is supported by Windows 10, and DirectX 11 is supported by Windows 7. TESO software should work with either one, but DirectX 11 is required. Apparently the error message is caused by a flaw in the game software. (Erroneous error messages are surprisingly uncommon in TESO.)

Perhaps you should also post your report in the Customer Support Forum section for the platform on which you play: PC Technical Support.
